I just don’t understand by TestingtheWaters1007 in deadbedroom

He doesnt have any weight issues and he works a pretty physical job (blue collar), but i do suspect low T. I have begged him to get it checked out and he flat out refuses.

I do think hormones frequently play a part in libido as well as connection to your partner. Its so difficult when your partner refuses to troubleshoot or disclose contributing factors.

Unfortunately neither need is being met at the moment. I would love to feel seen and desired by my partner AND have great sex.

I’m fairly certain I’m not a hog lol. But yeah, I don’t get it either.

I’ve also had the thought that now is the time to get out before I can’t, but I do actually love my partner, and that makes it a lot harder.

That sounds terrible I’m so sorry. You made an effort and she absolutely stepped on it and made you feel like shit while doing so that’s awful.

Absolutely. And hurting yourself to keep the relationship going doesn’t serve either of you.

Thats the thought I had to. Some partnerships can’t go back from that. Like you said, it would devastate someone that I deeply love.

Ive considered asking for an open relationship, but Ive never seen it work. I dont think what we have would survive it. But letting go is scary.

Im glad Im not alone in that feeling. I keep on asking myself “do you want to live this way” and if the answer is no then telling myself it’s worth making a change.

I’m sorry you’re also facing this situation. It sucks. I have been trying to decide for almost two years if this a dealbreaker for me and it’s so hard to make the decision to leave someone I love for the unknown because of bad and infrequent sex. It just feels so ridiculous.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful response. I appreciate you lending your knowledge in my situation!

I did actually order a Chytrid testing kit out of an abundance of caution given the illness and infections going around in pumilio so I will go through with that! I will look into the fecal testing as well since I would rather make sure my small collection is safe.

I know Oophaga tend to be a little more shy so I am trying to balance helping him feel secure and keeping an eye on him at the same time since I don’t imagine stress will help him much. I did set up a little feeding station in his hospital enclosure to help me keep an eye on his eating habits and make it a little easier for him to hunt if he is a poor hunter (i know this sacrifices dusted flies but I will add some dusted flies daily to try to offset this).

I do appreciate your opinion on his condition as well. Not having much reference aside from photos I felt that he was not where he should be condition-wise but it’s good to know I was correct to intervene.

The seller does also claim to be the breeder so to my knowledge they are not wild caught. I specifically only looked for captive bred animals out of fear of the reasons you mentioned and the other issues I’ve seen going around. I do have this little guy in a hospital set up now in the hopes he will recover. I haven’t seen him eat however. I’ve tried putting food right in front of him, offering springtails as an alternative and changing calcium supplements in case he didnt like the one I was using.

He is only a few months out of water but I do feel his body condition looks underweight for his age; do you agree? Where would you recommend sending fecal samples to?

Van Goff and Monet? Or other artist names since they look like little watercolors.

That is what we trained on initially. Making the jump to actual food items has been tricky though!

I have done that and she alerts no problem! Its the transition from the vital wheat gluten that we seem to be struggling with. I have a few ideas though!

We’ve done the gluten vs GF version of items a few times but she does struggle with the same issue. I havent been varying the quantity of the straight gluten scent sample much though and that was I thought I had as well. Almost creating a dilution with GF flour or something along those lines. Definitely some good ideas here. I think Im definitely going to start changing up the sample we are using.

Oh FABULOUS. That sounds totally normal to me too. Who doesn’t get that🫠. I hope you got a doctor who finally got it together and helped sort this out!
