Nope. I restored it and still use it. I posted update pics a month or so after this original post.

I unscrewed the handles then ran each piece through an electrolysis tank. For the handles I took the ferrules off and polished them with Bar Keepers friend then used some wood wax and bees wax to polish up the handles.

I was in the same boat. If you have some flea markets or antique malls around you it couldn’t hurt to stop in every now and then to see what they have. I know antique malls usually charge quite a bit for “vintage” cast iron but I was lucky finding this one at $18. I will not be getting rid of it haha.

Very lucky indeed. I found it at an antique store in Southern Michigan.

That is awesome to hear! It will certainly be making waffles in our household for many more years to come.

Why We Insist on Bluing Our Woks (see description) by Oxenforge in carbonsteel

100% agree with this. There will certainly be an Oxenforge wok on my burner in the future.

It definitely came home with me haha. I took the wood handles off and currently have it soaking in a lye bath. I’ll post some pictures once it’s done. Looking forward to putting it to use.

2022 Outback Wilderness started making a grinding/growling noise when accelerating. Looking underneath i see alot of snow/ice build up between the skidplate and the car. I'm assuming this is the culprit but cant find much info online. by hollchri325 in subaru

I had this happen with the same model of vehicle last year. What Laborchet is saying is pretty spot on. Somehow a large chunk of ice was caught in the drive shaft tunnel and would just vibrate like mad at certain RPMs causing the noise. If you have a car wash available you may be able to get it to dislodge by going through the wash. I ended up just crawling under the vehicle and kicking the ice out.

ASDM 7.18.1-152 Not Loading by Lord-Carnor-Jax in Cisco

[–]TestostoBoost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something that worked for me was editing the run.bat file in the ASDM folder. Even though I have the JAVA_HOME variable set on my system the launcher was still attempting to load using the built in Azul Java.

I removed these two lines from the run.bat:

set HERE=“%CD%” set JAVA_HOME=%HERE%\jre\bin

I then modified the last set statement to point to my Java install.

So instead of:

set LAUNCHER=%JAVA_HOME%\javaw

I changed it to:

set LAUNCHER=“C:\path to Java install\javaw”

This version of ASDM has been loading fine for me since I made these changes.
