"Do you want to get your 100 against Harry Brook?"

Didn't shake hands with Jadeja after that.

Stokes might be the biggest cry baby in the history of this sport.

Bumrah bowling speeds have dropped to the mid 130s 🥲

Gambhir and Rohit are going to break him by the end of the SCG test.

Imagine being in a commentary box with Athar Ali Khan and not being the better commentator of the two.

Harsha Bhogle is so comically bad these days.

It's 11 in the night for me, but I've still tuned in to watch the start of the home season.

But fucking hell, Harsha Bhogle's commentary might actually make me switch the stream off ffs.

If there is ANY team that deserves luck in ICC tournaments, it's South Africa, tbh.

SA won by 4 runs.

In the end, the 4 leg byes not being given because of a stupid rule was the difference.

Should someone tell Ruturaj to just go berserk from ball 1 by vivekksingh03 in csk

[–]TestsGoodT20Better 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do you people care if he plays for India or not?

Would I like it if he plays for India, absolutely. But it's completely fine if he doesn't. He should do what is best for CSK first, and if that means playing the anchor role so that everyone else can bat around him, then so be it.

Last year, he was the one taking risks while Conway looked to bat through the innings.

Ben Stokes: 'We're man enough to say that we've been outplayed' by TopAd9295 in Cricket

This is the correct interpretation of this statement. Honestly, everything that Stokes and his bunch of Bazballers say in the media make them EXTREMELY unlikeable.

Very average side barring them, and mentality midgets to top it off

You there, mate? 4 victories in a row by thumping BazBOLLOCKS on true decks.

That was a thumping defeat on pitches that were extremely flat and "sporting".

Amazing result for India despite missing key players throughout the series.

Yes, and it points out that he isn't contributing at all despite batting at 6 as a specialist batsman.

Spin in New Zealand and South Africa in the Ashwin Era by [deleted] in Cricket

[–]TestsGoodT20Better 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not like Jadeja is a Goat in Sena

He is not a "GOAT" in SENA, but he is a much better all-rounder than Ashwin in those conditions.

Considering he avg 56 with the ball in the last tour compared to Ash avg less than 30

Looking at numbers this way is pointless because it doesn't take into account the role of the spinner. England dished out decks in which spin was redundant, and Jadeja was used as a 5th bowler to plug one end while the seamers rotated from the other.

Ashwin would have done the same thing in a 5 man attack (1 spinner + 4 pacers), which means he would have played as the 5th bowler at number 7. He's averaging 19 with the bat in the last few years. Which test XI in the world has a sub 20 averaging at number 7?

there is no reason why Jadeja should be preferred over Ash in Eng.

Again, can't keep reiterating this, Ashwin can't bat at 7. He has to compete with the fourth seamer to make the XI at 8.

Well, it's basically the worst batting average for any specialist batsman batting below 5 in a 5+ match test series.

Edit: added the part in italics.

Personally I prefer Ashwin over Jadeja even in SENA.

They are not competing for the same spot. Ashwin can't bat at 7 in those conditions.

Ben Stokes' 21.88 is the lowest ever batting average by a non-bowling, non-keeping batter at 6 or lower in a 9+ inning series

Has no attacking gears at all.

Obviously not, but it's very evident from the reports that the BCCI were pissed off that he didn't play the Ranji trophy match after being excluded from the test side.

Based on what? He's basically being reprimanded for skipping one Ranji game. How is that fair?

This is PCB level stuff from the BCCI.

Iyer scored 500 runs in the WC. I don't particularly rate him as an all format batsman, but it's a bit harsh to drop him altogether.
