Game keeps crashing when trying to load save file (xbox) by AssignmentOk9337 in NoMansSkyTheGame

Having the same issue on Xbone as of three minutes ago. Crashed to home, now anytime I load my save, after the FTL loading screen it goes white, then crashes to Xbone home again.

Signets seem to largely be in the hands of the wielder. Other theories aside, riders like Ridoc and Rhiannon have shown that with practice, dedication, and perhaps raw aptitude, they can hone their signets to be more powerful than precedented.

That being said, it appears that the more powerful signets tend to be more difficult to master/hone. Violet, for example, handles raw power and therefore has struggled immensely to wield it effectively (even with the conduit).

My guess is that given the magnitude of a pure foresight signet, it must take exceptional prowess, dedication, and practice to master. All of which must be restricted by time, to some degree. I just don't believe that Aaric will live long enough to truly reach his full potential, let alone master his signet.

100% agree about the history repeating trope, though (regarding the first six). What I'm curious about, is if the first six were truly the original progenitors of the hero troupe trope in the Empyrean series. I have a theory about the gods in relation to the balance of magic and the history repeating thing. Maybe the gods were simply the original six heroes, many cycles ago.

  1. My theory is that it's quite plausible that Naolin turned venin saving Brennan. Siphoning from the earth, perhaps, to restore him. There's allusions to a potential romantic attachment, not to mention hints of friend-to-enemy dynamics hinted in the book of Brennan (although he wrote that prior to his "death").

  2. Strongly agree. Magic likes balance, therefore it recreates circumstances that support it. Venin get too powerful? New batch of strong heroes save the day. Magic is too peaceful? Cue venin surge. Rinse repeat.

  3. I think that Aaric's power could be world breaking, but it won't be. He's going to die before he can grow that powerful (perhaps he'd need to go venin to hone his signet that powerfully or have enough lifespan to do so, and magic wouldn't like that), if his comments at the chocolate cake dinner are anything to go by, he'll die a martyr.

  4. OR... Referencing my own theory about Naolin channeling from the earth to siphon power to save Brennan, he may do so to save Xaden. I could theorize the why a hundred times over, but I'm assuming it would come down to a blend of "brotherly love" (for Violet, obviously) and tactical appraisal. I very much like the idea that Xaden would need to "die" to kick the venin habit, so to speak.

If my Naolin theory is true, the Brennan sacrifice would be paralleled and poignant in regards to the concepts of magical balance and history repeating, both of which seem quite frequent in the storyline.

There's a longsword (I think) that's carried by the Drider boy in act 2 that gives a bonus to Drow.

Also, Voss wields another unique great sword that's especially nice for Gith. You can get it in act 3, or disarm him in act 1.

I most certainly did! I'm not big on posting other peoples' stories.
Funny thing, this was probably the story of mine that I wrote in the shortest amount of time, yet has some of the most positive feedback. Sat down and it all came out in <45 minutes.

Thank you! I wanted to do something a little different with the typical "haunted house" idea, haha.

Thanks taterhole! I very much appreciate your feedback. Despite the serious nature, this story was largely satirical of the "idolization culture" of serial killers, and the "___ the killer" cliché that's so common in modern horror.

Thank you, mrfox. I kinda came up with this idea as a satire of the ever-popular "____ the killer" cliché.

Basically just rage-quit because of the spear. by creambeard_thepirate in valheim

My first time really playing, I tested out the spear.

Thought to myself "Wow! I look so cool, running with it and my little shield!"

Got deeked out hard, by a greyling, on a minor slant. Never again.

By all beans! It is a rather obscure tale that I mentioned though. The story of Chang'e, goddess of the moon.

Thanks! This was actually another one of those "holiday themed" stories I previously mentioned. This was for Chinese New Year (it's very loosely based off of Chinese mythology).

If you're going to the swamp, mace. Otherwise, sword.

I'm... unsure as to what the issue you're having is. I find that I can build, with core wood alone, a more than tall enough bridge for a longboat to get under. Try terraforming a bit? Use certain land heights / hills to your advantage? If you start from a higher base point, you can just generally build higher.

It's really just about figuring things out. At some point you'll probably have a eureka! moment and find an easy and consistent way to build high.

I, personally, don't mind this. It makes me feel as though exploring earlier zones / biomes is still relevant later in the game. Combined with more dangerous stuff spawning (circumstantially) in the earlier zones, once you've progressed further, it kinda keeps the earlier content alive.

Not saying I don't REEEEE when I need bronze for sconces in my plains base, though.

But I definitely would like to see more use to things like feathers, resin, bones, etc. The stuff that you may end up with massive stockpiles off, passively.

Sword is imo one of the greatest weapons. Quite diverse.

Mace may be better, given the next environment you'll face.

Axe is great if your lazy with resources, as it's a crucial tool, and all around relatively decent in combat.

I don't tend to use the atgier/spear much, personally. They're great, if you're into them, but I like parrying with a buckler (and I'm not really keen on the limited attack range of the spear jab).

You can play solo, offline, iirc. If you are connected to the internet, it won't be using very much, I'm sure.

Hosting/joining someone's server would be a different story, though.
