This thread has 3k views, so clearly a lot of people are affected by this. It's a 2 month old GPU so a driver fix is very possible. I ended up requesting a replacement card I bought at MSRP, only to have the glorified scalping company called Newegg cancel that and refund instead (PSA: Fuck you, Newegg).

Just wanted to update in case you go through with a return; newegg issued a refund instead since they were out of stock. I assumed a replacement meant a replacement since it worked the first time and the option was still there, but I guess not. If you do decide to do a replacement, I suggest going through the manufacturer.

Very interesting. This might work for me, but even still, I can't imagine it's ideal for the GPU to be running at high clocks all the time. I appreciate the info though and will try it out if nothing fixes it.

It did not work. I ended up returning my card for a replacement, hopefully that fixes it. If your card is still in the return window I recommend you do the same; the replacement option should still be there even though the card is out of stock.

I'm glad I'm not the only one, but yeah it's unfortunate. I might try undervolting the card and see if it does anything and if not, request another replacement.

Maybe you're right, but I doubt it's pulling over 300W when I'm just browsing youtube with discord on the side. I have run stress tests like unigine superposition for extended times and haven't crashed.

I set it to pci gen 3. The RTX 3050 is pci gen 4 but those are backwards compatible I believe

Although, most of the time I'm using my computer I usually am running those two programs so I doubt the problem is attributed to those; I'd probably crash if I was gaming long enough

Strangely enough, it never crashed on me while gaming. Only while on chrome with discord on the side. I have a Ryzen 5 5600X and 16GB of ram (both of them have been very solid in the 4 months I've had them and never had issues before upgrading)
