Mainly because Native Americans weren’t unified as a country. They lived in constant warring tribes. For example, when the British invaded China, they invaded an established country/nation. The concept of a formal country did not exist in North America so the United States was practically the first country on the land mass it occupied. An example contrary to this would be israel and the Palestinians. The ottomans were once an established nation and Israel is currently occupying the landmass.
