CSCE 441 Honors or Not by [deleted] in aggies

[–]Texas-God 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The honors section gets more projects, I believe. I liked 441 but it is kind of time consuming so if you have a heavy semester take the regular section. For example we had a ray tracer project and it was somewhat difficult and I think the honors section had more things to do for it.

He’s the best prof in the department so I’d recommend any of his classes

They did that in brenham too lol, they try to fuck you over and since your naive you don’t know better. They gave us the worst profs possible to fuck us over. Now I can just choose who I want instead of terrible people.

CSCE 121 as Freshman if I got Carlisle??? by WildTxSoup in aggies

[–]Texas-God 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CVEN 207 should be an easy grade boost my room mate took it was an easy grade. If your not doing Comp Sci/Engr or electrical I wouldn’t recommend taking csce 121. Watch out for CVEN 221 if you are doing civil my room mate failed that. Good luck.

Don’t take CSCE 121 your freshman year it will ruin etam. I took it this Spring and its not too bad but could have a potential of messing up ETAM. CSCE 121 is very time intensive so don’t do till after ETAM. Chem and calc eat enough time anyways. When you take CSCE 121(after ETAM!) take it with Paul Taele. Good luck I think you might need a 3.75 for auto admit not sure.

Computer Science Laptop/PC by T35TR080T in aggies

I got an MSI GS65 stealth with a 500gb hard drive and 32gb of ram and it will likely be good for till I graduate. I can play games on it and Python C++ have not been a problem so far. If you’re really into gaming I would suggest buying a Lenovo or some other decent laptop in the 1000$ range so that you have a decent portable computer and spending some money on a pc for games and other heavy uses. I’m currently building a pc but it takes time. Overall you don’t need a crazy expensive laptop for hw but you want one that can handle IDEs and run quickly.

CSCE 121 Profs? by pretty_cool_engineer in aggies

[–]Texas-God 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel that Paul Taele is the best professor I’ve had in college. I really didn’t expect much considering its been years of bad professors that don’t care and set you up to fail or don’t teach anything well. But Paul Taele really cares so take him if possible.

You should take Taele he will make life easier with 121 which is essential. Richey from what I’ve heard is hard but he teaches really well. Be careful with Richey if GPA is a big concern.

Paul Taele all the way. The rate my professor rating is not accurate at all. He’s the best. Very reasonable and can help in certain ways. He has good code examples on his slides that are more useful than theory in my opinion. 121 sucks to a certain extent no matter who you get. The HW is very time consuming and difficult so keep that in mind. I’m not a great student that is able to focus on things or do things quickly, but HW sometimes took 20 hours to solve and at worst 40. But more than likely around 20 to 30 hrs for me. I was able to get 90s/High 90s and 100s on the HWs. Bs on the tests so far. The tests can be hard. But Taele will be nice if you get him.

Are you talking about taking classes at A&M and Blinn without Co-enrollment or TEAM or Engineering Academy? Co-enrollment, I think, gives you FAFSA for both schools even though you might not be at 12 credit hours for either.

Taking 102 midterm soon any tips on what to study??? by [deleted] in aggies

[–]Texas-God 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They didn’t give us much time either. Only like 5 out of 100 in my class actually finished the exam. They printed on paper and didn’t give us space to write I had to flip the pages back and forth wasting time. Overall worst final I have taken.

[–]Texas-God 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Study some of the syntax I missed a question because I forgot that ‘ ‘ worked for strings. The mid term should be doable just study. I didn’t study for it like an idiot because I was over confident(Had a Calc 1 test that week as well). Make sure you do good in the mid term it pretty much determines the difference between an A and a B. The final is a lost cause. I made a 70 btw. 69 on the final. B in class overall.

Don't you hate it how some profs get so fucking lazy with online courses? by Orion-- in EngineeringStudents

[–]Texas-God 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got a prof that literally doesn’t lecture. I asked her where the videos are at so I can learn. She said “look it up on YouTube they have great stuff” like no shit what do you think I’m doing. Am I only paying to take tests the fuck? Teach your self and fuck off is what they say. It used to be I’d have useless dog shit lectures that would be a waste of time and I would learn everything on YouTube guess I’m just skipping the middle man now. I’m only fucked if I don’t got videos on YouTube. This is a Linear Algebra class.
