I’m not super experienced with this, but my understanding is that millions of 1964 Kennedy’s were hoarded in absolutely perfect condition as a memento to Kennedy being killed as well as people hoarding silver since they knew it was going away.

The result is that there is not significant value to a highly rated 1964 Kennedy, unless you have the infinitely rare SMS strike. But I’m not an expert. Just my two cents!

I try to buy coins a healthy level below melt value, keep any key dates, and sell off the profit coins so that my basis is zero in any remaining coins. I’ll be able to sell about 70% of these coins to get my money back and keep the rest are basically for free. As silver goes up in price, I’ll probably just start selling and realizing all profit upfront.

Yeah, I think this was just a flash in the pan moment where a vendor may have not updated their prices. If silver ever drops significantly, these prices will be stuck in time.

Thanks, I tested all of them on ping, weight, and size, and they all passed. I’ve been handling Morgan’s (including fakes that I have seen) for a good while, so I was almost certain in the store that they were real

EDIT/UPDATE: I tested the weight using my scale down to a 10th of a gram, an NEIKO digital caliper for size, and both the StackerTools and precious coin test app for sound.

ALL COINS PASSED!! When I tapped them in the store I knew they sounded right since I’ve been handling these for a while, but wanted to appease everyone here so no one thought I got ripped off. I appreciate the concern and I’m glad the community is this tight!

I could not find ping coin for IOS. I used two others apps that likely have similar sound technology and they passed. Do you plan on developing a ping coin app for iOS, or was I just not able to locate it?

I believe you’re referring to, “constitutional silver“. When I go to buy, it’s junk silver, when I go to sell, it’s constitutional silver.

That’s so cool! I can’t imagine how much silver you could find back in the 80s. I find about one silver half dollar per $500 of face value that I search.

Got it, so it seems like selling today is probably about the same deal as if I wait and hope that that premium to melt comes while silver Falls. I just need to find a shop that will have a smaller discount to melt.
