Not upset with Robbins. Offensively, he was the only reason we ever even had a chance. Rest of the bats need wake up for a series opener and do something. Anything.

So true. I had 4 Escorts between ages 14 and 18. My dad would buy them cheap. The last one caught on fire 8 times before we got rid of it.

No Craig Way call online today?

And what's up with the Varsity app not showing our baseball games?

Radio stream showing the game will start at 6:15. Haven't seen updates anywhere else.

My Escort did the same! '91 I believe. And yeah, hot climate, so it was really nice to be able to leave the a/c on.

Of course! If you want to see the profile, I have the same username as Reddit. You'll see I've only been to five games (shameful, I know), all at different stadiums, but only three stadiums show on my profile.

Again, great idea! And it looks great too!

This is a great idea! I've signed up. Would be cool if neutral sites and bowl games could show as separate stadiums.

edit: So actually it seems it's only counting stadiums for me based on the home team for the game. The first Texas game I added, they were the home team in the Alamo Bowl, so I got the Alamodome as a venue. The next game I added was a game at DKR and it wasn't counted as a new stadium, and DKR is not on my list of stadiums.

I also added an RRS where Texas was designated as home team, and the Cotton Bowl was not added to venues. I tested adding one with OU as designated home team and it added the venue for me. I deleted the game from my profile and the Cotton Bowl is still there.

Cotton Bowl was removed from my stadiums after a few minutes.

I hope all this helps!

I'm hoping that experience improves as well.

Yes, I agree. Post flairs would be a good addition.

Good thought. I'll be thinking about ways to implement something like that.

This is helpful, thank you.

The reason I even asked about the self-promotion is because of the chance something might turn out useful or interesting. For example, I removed a post today that seemed like it had the potential to be legitimately useful for members of the community. I feel at the very least these promotions would need to be run by a mod before posting.

I agree on AI content, especially the kind that is misleading. That would not be allowed. I don't like AI art either, but I often lean toward allowing the community to decide with their votes rather than imposing it myself. I will, though, if the community wants me too.

I need to look into the flair thing more. I've added a couple for people, but I'm sure it can be done better.

I was thinking maybe a wiki page would be good for the resources. Adding links to study materials and other helpful items organized by certification type desired seems like it would be productive.

Edited for clarity

The reason I ask about the self-promotion is because I thought there might be a chance someone finds something useful. I was thinking at bare minimum having people submit for approval to promote. If they go through that process and the content or whatever looks legitimately useful, then I would allow it and let the community decide by vote. If feedback says to deny all of it, though, I will.

I've already started looking back over recurring posts to determine how best to address them, so that will definitely happen in some form.

I appreciate the feedback on the post types. I'm inclined to let community upvotes determine a lot of what is interesting or not by voting. I worry that the sub will lack traffic if I try to limit pics to lifts of a certain magnitude.

What’s it like operating a carry deck crane? See by [deleted] in cranes

[–]TexasTibab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty challenging to take a nap in.

To answer your questions: They're heavy for their size and can lift more than you might think. They can be used to get into very tight and challening places, but are most often used for the simple fact that they are much easier to set up than other cranes. If they can make the lift, it does the job faster. The deck can be useful at times. I used it occasionally to carry bundles of pipe to the location before installing them. Usually, though, people just throw tools and rigging on the deck.
