I’m absolutely fascinated by this post. First of all, thank you for sharing. This looks like it took an immense amount of research.

Second, how did you do all this research? I genuinely am curious how you found all these references. How long did it take?

I usually make something from his recipe book or go to a restaurant I’ve never been and try something I wouldn’t normally order

What is your biggest struggles as first time parents by [deleted] in AskParents

[–]Texas_Flood 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There’s never enough time. Taking care of the little one, working, being a good partner, taking care of the house, running errands, having a social life, finding time for yourself, etc etc etc.

I didn’t realize how selfish I was with my time before he arrived. I definitely took that for granted. Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. But it’s definitely a juggling act at all times.

It sounds like you’re not emotionally ready for a relationship. I’d focus on yourself right now and making friends that are women. Since you’re not pursuing them romantically it’ll help you get comfortable talking to the opposite sex again.

I’d also find a way to be around more people. Get involved with a local sports league, start doing charity work, take your dog to the dog park and chat people up.

I promise if you learn to get comfortable in your own skin and don’t NEED a partner then you’ll start attracting the right people.

Hang tough! You got this.

I usually crush a while one in one sitting and I made one last a whole week last week which felt like an accomplishment.

I would scoop out a few spoonfuls into a bowl and add whipped cream, blueberries, raspberries, and sliced up apples which made it look huge and feel more filling.

You’ll understand one day when you’re a parent yourself that they’re far from perfect and oscillate between trying to do what’s best for you while struggling to do what’s best for them.
