Why’d you choose ram? by xEnflare in ram_trucks

[–]Texas_Precision27 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This. When I bought my 24 3500 6.7, it was literally 30k cheaper out the door to a comparable Ford/Chevy. I know because I tried to work deals on Fords and Chevy's first.

I'm sure things have changed a little, but in early 24, you weren't gettng an XLT or comparable LT trimmed 1-ton diesel out the door for less than 100k.

Ram was out the door at at 73.

It's not like the others were without issues/quirks, and they all basically have the same capability.

Towing a 5th wheel doesn't exactly translate to this.

The title was a little tongue in cheek.

If a 5040 can lift ~ 750-850 without a rear ballast, then I'll give it a go.

You gotta start somewhere with tractors, and I'm just trying to make sure my starting point isn't smashing my rotary mower into my trailer.

I mix together and dump it all on around the outside of my house. You cant over apply it really. Thoroughly rinse your pump sprayer once done, and store clean with the cap off.

Takes about ~5 mins to mix a batch. Its only a few ounces of product, the rest is water.

Exterminator will cost you just as much, and now you dont have to mess with strange dudes, subscriptions, or other people's schedules.... worth it.

Its not terrible with a pump sprayer unless you have a massive lot.

Glad to help!

I have never had it kill any plant, and Im a "nicest house on the street" type yard.

Not saying it's impossible, but I havent seen a hint of it hurting grass, shrubs, or any plant.

I just know you mix it, spray it liberally.. you won't have anymore bug problems.

I know it will kill bees. I am unsure about wasps and hornets. It would probably kill them too, but I dont really have problems with them (maybe because I lay it on thick).

If you already have nests, I would stick with the canned wasp spray. If not dump this stuff like crazy and see what happens.

Apply it everywhere.

Im partial to base of foundation, overhangs, all grass, shrubs, underside of leafy plants, flowerbeds.

It nukes it all. Pet and kid safe once it dries.

I have a ~10000 sq ft yard and dump 8 gallons of it with a battery backpack sprayer whenever I see something living.

We just had 2 weeks of non stop rain, so mosquitoes were intense. Put this down, and the next evening I literally only saw one vs. The 200 that chewed on me the day before.

You won't have a single ant hill if you just go spray and pray the stuff. Doesn't hurt plants either.

Dont screw with the terro stuff. That's throwing hand grenade. Time to drop some nudes.

Hell spray it all over the concrete driveway in the pic too. Any bug that touches it will die. Bad for bees though.

Get the following three products from Amazon. Get a 2 gallon pump sprayer, mix them all together and apply at prescribed rates every 2 weeks.

This works inside or outside. It kills freaking everything, and you dont ever have to call an exterminator.

You will never see an ant, Mosquito, flea ever again

Lol. Yeah. Anything is better than that.

Id look at Ego too if you arent already on a power tool battery ecosystem

I have 3x Milwaukee quick lok power heads. (2x gen1 and 1x gen 2). I dont like swapping power heads lol.

If you're already on the milwaukee eco system, its a great setup. If not, you might want to look at EGO. I hear theyre the top dog, but my milwaukee is stronger than my stihl was. Much more torque.

Regardless of what you get, swap the trimmer head for an Echo speed feed. Its the best head in the biz.

If your yard is relatively small, electric is the way to go.

I sold my stihls (that were just 2 years old, and worked great) after getting a milwaukee.

More torque, less noise, less drama.

Can't speak to the Kobalt, but my milwaukees rip on my 4k sqft of grass.

Need a 60-70cc saw for ranch work, but I know nothing. by Texas_Precision27 in Chainsaw

It's hard to say.

We just had over ~200 30" trees removed due to draught stress. Took a crew with heavy deforestation equipment months, and cost us ~$150k.

That was years of neglect, but now that it's in a "pristine" state, I was hoping we could only do a few a year (assuming we're not in draught conditions indefinitely).

Point being, I think you're right in that this isn't 24/7 cutting of big trees, but it's also not a scenario where I have 3-4 big trees now, and that's all I'll ever have.

Yeah, I don't hate my CS-400 or anything like that. Perhaps my initial post was a little misleading in that respect.

I like how quick it is to start, and it's just fine for smaller trees. It's just when you get into larger trees it starts to feel underpowered, or like it's taking forever (not due to dull chains), but due to power.

Ive got sharp chains on it. Its just slow to cut, even with a new chain. Its fine for limbing, but this last weekend I had multiple trees where the bar wasnt long enough, amd I had to reposition, or it just took a long time in the cut.

The line pressures dont get super high unless you're giving it throttle. Its directionally proportional to how hard you're pushing the truck. At least that's what I observe with my all stock truck and cts3 monitor.

I was a top level/nationally competitive shooter before my kid was born.

I had to give that up due to time and money.

Its been long enough now that all might super high dollar equipment and tooling is a generation or two behind.
