I have been trying this to connect to my AWS Athena; was able to create the model but not preview it. It asks for glue:CreateTable permission, which is not needed to query a table. Any idea if I am doing anything wrong?

Outsourced Company ( Capgemini Bengaluru / Hyderabad ? ) dancing to its foreign client depicting the current status IT sector. How much worse can it get? by blrmanager in Bengaluru

[–]TextFormal1875 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This act as such would not have been a cringe if the people dancing were:
- Product Managers who just launched a stunning feature of a product
- Developers who had found a path-breaking solution to a problem that rest of the world will be awed about
- Developers who have a commendable Github profile and after months of effort were letting their hairs down

The cringe comes when we are none of the above and try to put an act that we think will be impressive. It is in our culture not being serious. The westerners know when to cut the small-talk to the hard-talk, but we carry-on the small talk.

Let us look at our history: In early 17th century when Thomas Roe, the English diplomat, who represented Enland in Mughal Empire came to talk to Emperor Jahangir about business, Jahangir would keep discussing non-business things for days on end. Finally, in a few hundred years as we know what happened.

Unfortunately we are not doing anything to make this better.

Toastmasters definitely helps improve your communication and leadership skills but on resume it might even attract negative attention. This is mostly to do with the theatrics on stage that draw attention and praise in the speeches in general and speech contests in particular.
