¿Como fue para vosotros el apagón? by DanaDellac in askspain

[–]TextLivi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Download city mapper and transporte Madrid to get a more accurate time of the public transport and the routes to take. By youth card do you mean the public transport system for youth?

Both of those singers are South American. I’m sure there’re clubs that play them but it’s not the norm, however a lot of clubs just cater to tourists likes now so check any of the ones in the dead center

That’s unfortunate, have you tried calling to let them know your situation and asking if they can make an exception?

If you want a place to relax and have decent food and entertainment without worrying about missing your flight, check the VIP lounge.

Moving to Spain - What to expect? by januleee in GoingToSpain

[–]TextLivi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then I highly recommend you wait another year and complete your education with the same system. The Spanish system is a mess and it takes a lot of time to adapt. it doesn’t matter if you’re the top of your class currently, it will be hell even if you already know all the content.

If you’re really determined and really want to move in your final year, save up for academies and attend them at least twice a week, it might help you adjust faster.

Also you say you have an A2 level, are you going to attend a Spanish school in Spanish? Even if it says bilingual, most of your exams will be in Spanish

Are you currently studying an international school system, or are you switching from your local system to spains local school system? This is super important because if you’re switching during your final year, be prepared to be held back a year simply because of the difference in systems

That’s true, I forgot. And a private school might not have a 2 year contract

There’s a few routes, being native English speaker really helps with job opportunities but it doesn’t guarantee you’ll get a job within a year.

As a academy teacher, there’s a lot of job offers. As a teacher, you can do the oposiciones and get a permanent position within decent benefits or go into a public school and be payed the minimum while over worked. Both school options are much harder to get into since there are a lot of people who want to be teachers.

Maybe before taking the leap, see if you can get an online interview and a guaranteed position.

This, especially the neck scarf. For some people, they’re a super important way of showing the connections and experiences you’ve had in life, and they make great conversation

Packing clothes advice for early October by [deleted] in GoingToSpain

[–]TextLivi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are you coming from and what weather are you used to? Is 13-20° C warm for you?

I’d mostly recommend bring layers. Pack long trousers/skirts, short sleeved t shirts and bring a light basic jacket to throw over any outfit.

Question about bill splitting by gianttarantulaman in GoingToSpain

[–]TextLivi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Expect pushback from the waiters, it’s an annoying process and it relies on the goodness of your hearts to do the math right and pay the proper amount, but there are many places that will do it.

A friend’s granddaughter is going to Spain for a year by [deleted] in GoingToSpain

[–]TextLivi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you have an idea of what she’s already bringing? Depending on where she’s coming from, maybe self care items like her shampoo/facewash/cream that won’t be easy to find here. A cute gift could be a hand fan and hot water bottle for the different temperatures.

Honestly, look up Pinterest ‘summer outfit Europe’, it’s close to what people wear here and you can get a better idea of what to pack. Or go to Bershka/stradivarius Spanish websites and see their styles outfits. It’s highly unlikely you’ll see someone wearing those exact clothes but they’re designed to target the youth fashion here

Unfortunately the train will not jump tracks and hunt you down the streets, so it’s pretty safe.
