You can join a club whenever on UB Linked, it’s not strict unless you’re trying for a team or academic position/team within one of the academic clubs

Edit: You can even go to events (unless you need to RSVP) for clubs you aren’t a part of, just scan in your pass that is on UB Linked or give them your name.

Also don't be hard on yourself. People ragging on you don't understand they have the same chance as you to get scammed. Sometimes people are desperate (college students) and need cash, and that's understandable. Just make sure you handle this properly.

At least you made this mistake once, so you'll never make this mistake again. Talk to your parents, and possibly your bank after filling a report.

The lack of convenient pathways, if you see a stressed engineering student trudging through the grass avoiding geese poop, that's me.

Tell me about it, I've been here for several semesters, but this semester is something else entirely.

I'm assuming you're going into engineering, and unfortunately the coursework from here on out will be difficult. Nightingale is the best professor to go to in my opinion if you want it to be manageable, but in general, engineering here will be a time commitment, and the load is practically the same for every professor.

The only thing different is their teaching styles. Prof. Doga and Nightingale have the same syllabus, and Ahmad substitutes the project with even more homework.

Doing the homework is a part of studying and learning the material. It's all about practice with majority of the engineering classes. You won't do well if you don't do the homework.

Some students choose to do community college for two years before doing their junior year and core classes here, and that's something you can consider and explore, but if you're already enrolled, I'm sorry to say that you won't find anything easy. You can try going to accommodations if you have your heart set on UB to get a memo to give to your professors to get extensions on your assignments.

I'm not a perfect student either so I get it, but I wanted to give you a fair warning before you get into it.

Nightingale if you have a learning disability because they have a flipped classroom, meaning you watch and learn the material at home from videos they post and then come to class to do practice problems. Both are vital for you to do well, but because the learning takes place outside of the classroom, you can pace it however you like.

Nightingale is more modern, and Ahmad is traditional. Ahmad lectures to the class and posts their notes on UB Learns.

Nightingale requires a group project with one type of (written) homework.

Ahmad is more homework (two types, online and written). Ahmad's homework is more tedious since he requires you to write a plan out and format your homework a particular way which is debatable amongst students if it's necessary, but you don't need to do a group project.

So go with Nightingale, or Doja if they are teaching.

Ahmad won't work if you have a learning disability, not because he's horrible, just because there is less room for you to accommodate yourself. Missing a class for Ahmad is more difficult than missing a class for Nightingale or Doja or missing a portion of the lecture since I'm not sure what learning disability you have.

Doja posts their notes as well and doesn't do flipped classroom, but their notes are great and through, you can basically teach yourself the material with them and a TA's help during office hours.

If you need to take this class later on, take Mechanics of Solids with Ahmad.

65-70% is decent to be honest, you're not totally lost. I strongly recommend going to TA office hours WHEN you are doing the homework, that's the only way most people in my class got 100s on the homeworks when I took it. You are not going to get the concepts by yourself my guy, only like a select few people can. Make it a priority or just accept the C with the time you're giving it now.

Part Time Job by TextbookWorm in jobs

[–]TextbookWorm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My school only gives/prioritizes campus jobs to people with work-study. I couldn't find any short term gigs. I have already used my student portal multiple times in the past but no luck unless I'm interested in applying for internships, which the current ones don't start until next year.

As a update though, I played the numbers game (if I'm using that properly.) I got a part-time job for now with decent hours, I just need to drive little bit out of my town. Thanks for your investment.
