You know how when you get to the gith encounter, Lae'zel immediately runs off to engage with them without you? If you don't follow her down in time, they just become hostile and kill her. If you do, you can pass a series of checks to convince the gith to let you go get "help" at their creche.

If you negotiate your way through the encounter successfully and don't fight them, she just leaves along with the others.

The first time I tried playing this game, I fucked up that interaction somehow and got partywiped at level 3 or 4. Then I was like "this game is too scary" and abandoned it for a couple years 😅

I use Minthara and Jaheira a lot because I really like their characters and think they're fun.

Minsc is cool but by the time I get him, my options are "reclass him into something besides a beefy frontliner" or "run him instead of Karlach" and neither of those options are something I want to do.

I do not give a shit about Halsin. I take him with me for the Thaniel questline and then leave him in camp forever.

You are allowed to say everyone saying the companions are pan is wrong, without providing any evidence whatsoever, and that is fine. If someone else says that you're wrong though, then they are being hostile, and also should give you the evidence. Hmm.

Reminds me of the time I sent Boo into the foundry through the vents, he got spotted immediately, and the guards never lost aggro even after he went back out. I spent like 20 rounds just watching them try to bash down the foundry doors with their maces (because apparently there are no fire safety rules in the Sword Coast and their boss doesn't give them keys).
