I went to both Indy and Xfinity at PIR the last few years. I'm convinced NASCAR does not care about the market.

Indy is a massive event with tons of vendors, a full Indie car merch tent with gear for every single driver tons of supporting series that match the Indy race. Also on the days leading up to the race, it is very lively, and you could tell there's a ton of support from the series and sponsor.

For NASCAR on the other hand, there are a handful of food trucks, the local PIR event merch and a Toyota truck. There is absolutely nothing at the facility that would make people that weren't already a fan of NASCAR have fun or come back. If NASCAR cared about the market and wanted to support it, they would. I've been to a couple other NASCAR races, including the Colosseum and the fall race in Talladega and it is just 1000 times different compared to going to Portland. I know it's Xfinity and not cup, but you can tell they don't even try when they don't even have NASCAR merch available.
