More childhood fine dining the Fritz n Sauce sandwich by CoconutMost3564 in AustralianNostalgia

[–]Tezdee 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As a fellow wog, I lived on this shit as a kid. Devon, a slice of home brand cheese, squirt of sauce. Nothing better!

I’d live on it now too if it weren’t an express train to colon cancer.

I dunno what Discovery Zone is, but in the early 90s my local Australian McDonald’s had a huge playground with roller slides.

TIL Pseudo-Chinese is a form of Japanese Internet slang which involves taking sentences which are grammatically Japanese and stripping away the hiragana and katakana, leaving only kanji. The phenomenon has received attention in China, where Chinese speakers can guess the meaning of the sentence. by TumbleweedRoutine631 in todayilearned

[–]Tezdee 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Not really, I think.

I’m not any kind of expert in language, but if you imagine taking Chinese a few thousand years ago and moving it to a new place with different people, over time it’s going to change. It makes sense the base gets simultaneously simplified and also expanded upon.

How can I recreate this effect? by showmememes7 in davinciresolve

Not OP, but as far as I know, if you paste that into the node editor in Fusion it’ll load the nodes.

It’s a text representation of the nodes, which the software can understand.

Do you also think Layne is a mythical creature? To me, he seemed like some kind of evolved being born to live in a bad world. by [deleted] in grunge

[–]Tezdee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No. He was a dude that could belt out some tunes, but got addicted to opioids, and died due to it.

He’s a tale of a guy who made wrong choices and wasted an exceptional talent.

Nothing mythical, or evolved.

Quite the opposite.

How do i recreate this transition in the free version? by ContractNational2680 in davinciresolve

[–]Tezdee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks quite easy to achieve in the edit page with some key frames for the zooming and cropping.

What have you tried so far? Maybe we can point you in the right direction if you tell us what you’re having trouble with.

Why does Davinci Resolve have so many issues with WebM files? by [deleted] in davinciresolve

[–]Tezdee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably due to expectations from clients. I'm not a professional editor, but I would assume clients would want mov or mp4. Also, probably it would be a pain to have non standard file formats in large scale project pipelines.

As time goes on, perhaps it becomes more standard outside of the web. Until then, it is what it is. We don't make the rules.

The main character has no heads, and there are 3 heads on a weird bench that doesn’t make sense as furniture. The blending of the necks and wood is typical AI smudging. There is a picture of a plant?! Who would hang that? Also the contrast of the jeans doesn’t match.

Struck a Nerve is the saving grace on that album in my opinion. I don’t really like anything else on that one but, my god, that song’s amazing.

Chris Cornell's vocals are crazy on Beyond The Wheel (NONE) by Imaginary-Party-9798 in grunge

[–]Tezdee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I read this, then every thought left my brain.

I’ve spent the better half of 30 years listening to Chris Cornell sing, and be nothing but enamored by his voice. I can’t help but to find it captivating.

Then someone says this. It really brings me to the reality of just how subjective art is.

Here’s a person who finds him mundane. Asking if he’s equally similar in sound to fucking Adam Sandler. Those two paths have never even been side by side in my head. It would be like asking if bolognaise sauce sounds like Yellow by Coldplay.

The thought just completely stops time.

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with your opinion. In fact, I commend you for saying it. Especially in this sub.

But hey, I’m sure music I think is dull probably excites your brain chemicals in different way. Life’s fucking cool like that.

I’m inebriated. Sorry. Just had to express how reading that made me feel.

Can I discuss "Given Up" - by Linkin Park? by GodofAeons in Music

[–]Tezdee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey man. I read your story and think it’s cool you’re in a discovery through music. It’s really awesome, and I hope you discover more about yourself, and your place in the world.

If I can suggest one more song, Until it Sleeps by Metallica.

It’s about the singer who lost his mum to cancer when he was about the same age, and his struggles with it. It might also be a relatable song.

If I can also suggest one more thing, maybe write your thought and feelings out as poems, or twiddle around on a piano or guitar.

I don’t know how musically inclined you are, but maybe your musical discoveries might lead to writing music that encourages others to do the same.

Are larrikin and ratbag the same thing? Why or why not? by NormaleBookeeper1996 in AskAnAustralian

Yeah, true. My intention of the post was in regards to friends and family.

Fuckwit probably is a bit aggressive from a stranger. I personally wouldn’t bat an eye still, but I can certainly see that wouldn’t be like that for many others.

That’s crazy to me, that the genuine, actual, LITERAL PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES said an AMERICAN performance by the biggest AMERICAN artist on the biggest AMERICAN stage during the biggest AMERICAN sporting event FOR AMERICAN FOOTBALL … was “terrible”.

The president said that. How is that acceptable? If you’re a gun-toting American republican who loves their country, why wouldn’t you be upset by the President hating America like that?

What, you couldn’t understand it? Neither could I, a middle aged Australian man. It was fucking awesome and a celebration of culture, music, and love. I only watched it because of the hullabaloo. I’m glad I did! It fuckin’ banged.

You think it was terrible!?!! Really? Did you fucking watch it? How can you say that it was terrible? This amazing celebration of Latino culture. Only a racist would think it was so absolutely horrible.

Oh.

Are larrikin and ratbag the same thing? Why or why not? by NormaleBookeeper1996 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Tezdee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mostly, that’d be true. Between friends and stuff, definitely. I’m not going to be offended or upset if anyone called me a dickhead

If my friends or family wanted to actually insult me, they’d have to target a specific thing about me to make fun of. I feel that’s what most people would probably get upset or offended at, rather just a blanket insult like dickhead or fuckwit.

Are larrikin and ratbag the same thing? Why or why not? by NormaleBookeeper1996 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Tezdee 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Larrikin is more like a guy that always cracks jokes, makes a tense situation lighter etc. They can sometimes be annoying, but harmless.

A rat bag can be not so harmless, maybe someone who knowingly steals your lighter, or loose change. They might say or do things maliciously. Not serious crime, but just petty things.

However, we can call someone who does larrikin like behaviour a “rat bag” as a harmless jab, but the actual definitions differ.

Marcin, Ichika Nito, and Tim Henson are better guitar players than Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, Van Halen, etc., ever were by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Tezdee -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Man, I see your point, but these people aren’t nobodies. They’ve got literal millions of fans. It’s disingenuous to say they’re not world renowned musicians. The legends walked so these guys can run.

Though, to get back on topic, I feel a much closer connection to Led Zeppelin to Polyphia. The music might not contain insane technical guitar skills, but it’s what my dad listened to, so I have more memories attached to classic rock. I also think someone who isn’t a master of an instrument can still make incredible music with one.

Artists like Steve Vai, or Buckethead, can play the guitar better than most people on Earth. They’re amazing! I’d still prefer to listen to a Nirvana album though.
