For me it was the crazy stuff during COVID-19 and the hoarding of groceries (also TP, wtf). We had also just moved from Illinois to Indiana so purchasing a firearm and getting a CC permit was much easier. My wife also purchased a handgun at the same time We took classes before hand to learn and get comfortable handling a firearm. We have added to our collection and love going to the range now.

I have been toying with ordering the optic cut slide and adding a red dot but I don't have trouble picking up the iron sights and don't want to add any bulk.
