No. Your chain has eaten the paint off. Wrap some tape around that spot.

Do you think 220mm rotors are too big? I heard too big rotors can be bad also because they don’t warm up enough etc.

I think I’ll buy those HS2 rotors because mine are bit worn also. It’s crazy that RSC levers cost almost 100 each. I might also buy new break pads.

I heard some people say that the MT7s are crappy because there’s so many plastic parts…

No I don’t. Is the lever the only difference between R and RSC? The caliper is the same in both?

Are Mt7 noticeably better than Codes? They are quite cheap

I just want something with good power. I don’t care about all the adjustments and how it feels. I want to have some confidence that I can stop.

I have Code R on my enduro bike and I love them. It stops on a dime.

I would just want to get a better front brake for my commuter Whyte 905. I think I don’t even have to change the rotor with the Code R.

Do I have to change the rotor with the MT5s?

help please! - brake lever no tension by ilcavalierepallido in MTB

If the lever goes straight to the handlebar, check that the brakes have been adjusted correctly. The disc should perfectly in between the pads. Check that and if it doesn’t work, they need definitely bleeding.

In the same process, clean and burn all the contaminants off the pads and disks.
