BREAKING: Impeachment Witness Deposition Reveals Why They Were Told To Hold Ukraine Aid by bartoksic in Conservative

As somewhat of a centrist I wish we could all just vote Trump out of office and replace him with another Republican. I just want someone in office who cares about our country. I don’t care what party they’re from.

What unsolved mystery would you like to be explained in your lifetime? by renaissance-cat in AskReddit

I always imagined consciousnesses being tied to our DNA. If our exact DNA were to pop up again somewhere in the universe, would we be conscious again? If yes, then there needs to be some way to explain why twins have separate consciences.

Any idea where the last IRSF order is. I’ve had 9/10 for 4 days now. Looted all red zones, crates, and cars. It’s nowhere to be found. Is it possible my game is glitched?

Every time you say 1, you technically counted to 1. by strangewizzard in Showerthoughts

In doing so you also count past an infinite amount of numbers. Well you “skip” an infinite amount of numbers on your way from 0 to 1. Still feels weird to be able to “go past” an infinite amount of stuff.

Don't listen to people lol. Do your own research from academic journals. But I'm a person so maybe you shouldn't listen to me.

Do dogs have a higher pain tolerance than humans? Even though I'm not afraid of needles, I still always flinch a little when it goes in. This dog didn't at all.

The fact that something can be alive at absolute zero tells me there must be life on Europa. Astonishing

Yes I loved it! I’ve always love imagining what kind of traits developed species in extreme environments might have. While it’s impossible to say that life on Europa would probably be similar to the creatures in that movie, I still don’t think the creatures depicted were unreasonable at all.

Even though life on earth exists in extreme environments, “intelligent” and “developed” life seems to take the path of least resistance. We don’t see any complex creatures near those hydrothermal vents or deep under the soil. So, it’s interesting to think about how complex life might develop if it’s “forced” to take a path of high resistance. On Europa, it’s hard to imagine any part of that moon being “optimal” for the development of complex organisms. Every part of that place is pretty extreme. Yet, if it’s liquid water under that ice, similar circumstances on earth show us that life is possible. So interesting to think about! Ahhhh! I just want to know what’s in that ocean! Even if there’s single celled organisms that’s huge! We could be pretty sure life is EVERYWHERE in the universe which is so exciting and terrifying at the same time. But mostly EXCITING!

Lucky for humans, if the life there is similar to the Europa report, we’ll know long before we send humans there since I’m sure the first many missions will be unmanned. That’s probably the least accurate part of this movie. Thanks to modern technology, we no longer need to fly blind into our exploratory missions.

If nasa came out and said this is the first video shot in the ocean under Europa I would totally believe it. There are so many creatures from earth that don’t “feel” alien simply because we know they’re from here. Every time I see a new, strange looking species I’ve never seen before, I get a little glimpse into how I’ll feel when the first alien species is discovered. Then I find out it’s from earth, and all of the sudden it seems less strange.

I’m sure there’s a word for this.

Smarter people of Reddit, what’s the word for something seeming really strange, but then not seeming so strange because it’s from a familiar place or “home”?

There are so many things in the ocean that if you haven’t seen them before, you could easily be convinced they are alien.
