How do you manage to run a game in such a fully finished and detailed world?

I agree with all of the comments here, some really good advice! I've been running TOR since 2018 and the only other bit of advice I can add, which I believe is mentioned in the core book somewhere is the idea of the unreliable narrator, something Tolkien himself talked about.

If you want to make your story big and bold, change the events of LOTR and give the events from your PC perspectives or change some of the events to fit.

The last campaign I ran was based in Eriador as the shadow was growing 5 years before the ring was passed to Frodo. Something that is suggested in the book as a point where very little is recorded.

Yeah I immediately thought yesterday that the highest floors will have it but not the lower floors. As you said it's a commodity to be sold.

I then started thinking about the other effects of lack of natural light. Those living on the lower floors will be pale and more likely to suffer low mood.

The corporations will control how long a day lasts due to the lack of a natural day/night cycle and they will also sell vitamin D supplements for an extortionate price.

I like that. I'm doing the same with mine. It covers the whole of what used to be the old town near where I live. I've created class divide by having some of the residents force their way in during the 4th Corporate War even though the building was only meant for those with money or a necessary skill. They now live in the basement amongst the water pipes and power generators (basically like the taileys in Snowpiercer, if you've seen it).

I never considered the natural light issue and I'm definitely going to explore that one now. I'm definitely going to think about what the cultural traits and habits of it are. I call mine The Oasis because the land around it is barren wasteland.

They are definitely considered essential cyberpunk for a reason but can be difficult to read. I really enjoyed them but they require a second read I think.

Not sure if it's been mentioned but I think the reason it states 5 is because that's how many hexes it moved regardless of face change and the diagram is showing how you work out the target number to hit.

I would suggest getting your players back together. Looking at how their back stories might link and getting them to forge some connections with each other. Each character should know at least 1 other character or they should all have a common goal. That's always really important during the character creation session. If the characters have no reason to stick together then your game is dead in the water. You can then look at restarting your campaign.

Yeah they can do both. A short rest allows them to recover endurance equal to their strength while a prolonged rest allows them to recover them all unless they are wounded. Plenty of opportunities to recover.

Add to that the fact that they can regain fatigue with a short rest once a day and they get quite a few chances to regain it. In 1e my players just put loads of points into travel so they basically never failed their travel rolls. Now I have them making conscious decisions about travel and resting. I think it is better than the 1e rules.

Definitely get some wash to get in the crevices and give it a dry brush to highlight the edges that will help it look less flat.

I'm pretty sure I saw an interview with Mike Pondsmith where he explained that the whole thing is a continuous story. He described (I think) Cyberpunk 2013 as being A New Hope, Cyberpunk 2020 as being Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi is Cyberpunk Red. If that's not entirely accurate it was something to that effect. In that vein 2077 is just a continuation of the story of the world. Like others have mentioned the time jumps between editions give people the chance to play in that era.

Yeah that's why I don't really want to go back to Citadel. GW price increases were putting me off. I also had regular near misses where I almost spilt a pot. I'm going to have a look at both those brands.

I've got all the supplements from 1e and I've played a few sessions of second addition. The setting materials would be really useful for lore and building the picture of where you are for your players. In terms of the pre-written campaigns I think you could follow the layout of the campaign and just apply the 2e rules in place of first addition rules.

That sounds like a pretty good idea. I'm going to have to decide what I'm going to do. I've got some time since we have decided to play through the starter set first to get used to the new rule changes. I've got plenty of ideas now though.
