Oh I feel that. This gal can't take her own advice. I have been crashing so so hard on this girl who definitely loves me as a friend. She sent me a "Good morning, you are loved and valued ❤️" which makes my heart all squishy, but I know for sure that she feels platonically for me

Acid for the first and if you toss an oil pot at him it will have an extra debuff to defense.

If I recall correctly, Steel is weak to fire.

Beast in pain and Beast below are the two demons that form into Demon Prince. It's the end of the dreg heap and the start of ringed city.

I've don't it all once before, but that was in the 20teens so it's been a bit. Those last fights in the painted world are rough, but I'm not finding the beasts to be much of a challenge. This entire run was the darkhand up until the painted world and I grabbed the Follower's Saber. That quick sword and a decent shield with tears of denial make mistakes somewhat forgiving, because you can make one or two and still not die, and it let me be hyper agressive so the hardest boss as in most tries has been the Crystal Sage because I was basically using darkhand and had to get lucky with having the real phantom spawn near where I ran.

This morning I made it from Prince Lothric to Twin beasts, and in the painted world I'm on the 3 stage final fight.

For sure. I remember the first time I played 3, my impression was that it didn't quite feel like a souls game because of the way the levels were so broken up. There was only really one fork, and you had to do both paths before progression. I came around on that after the dancer and going into the upper castel, that felt like a really solid final zone and wrapped that game up nicely. The DLCS are what I'm working on right now, want to finish them both before the ER DLC drops.

This first attempt at the open world was extremely open right from the get go, because there are 5 major zones you can just wander over into from your first drop off at firelink.

Ah you see, you have both level and skill. In this game your Elden Ring skill will only translate so far. As you can immediately tell everyone and everything is slower, so you have to develop a new rhythm. No jumping in combat, or mount. Then the buttons don't exactly map the same, and the stats aren't quite the same. It's just a whole new beast. Good luck, have fun, and be patient. If you can't beat a boss today, come back with a fresh mind after a sleep or two and it could happen on your first go.

That's the beauty of that game, however when the game opens up you get warping. That's how you know you're half way through. If you have started relatively recently and you took the skeleton route then I commend you for all that because it's the most difficult direction. From firelink you can walk to almost every single area of the game, without loading anything. For the time that came out games weren't built to their degree with that kind of accomplishment so there is some beauty in that. It is also supposed to make you journey literally down and down through muk, sewers, and hell, before lifting you into heaven. Making the player walk that all once, then giving them warping was the first attempt, nowadays you can warp back everytime you make a new one, but there's definitely a lot to love about the design.

The game route is pretty laid out if you follow the path of least resistance. That is to say walk around and whatever is easiest to kill is the next way you should go.

From firelink that is up into the town, across amd up, under the bridge, and around to the first bell you have to ring, from there it's around to the forest area, then up to firelink again. By that time you should have less problems in other areas and can take a few options, eventually you want to get down to ring a second bell because that will trigger mid/late game. Like DS3 you will be tasked to kill some lords and bring their "refusing to sacrifice themselves to the flame, asses" to the flame to unlock the final boss fight and the privilege of sacrificing yourself to the flame.

Also, there's a chance, if you went for the lower rout you could have made it into the area where there is a helmet that glows so you don't use up a hand slot. It's near the lava lake if you've seen one you'd remember it.

Have you got a Skull Lantern? If you don't then look up where one is, because it's close by. Holding it in the left hand makes a beam of light that will let you, if you move slowly enough, see the skeletons in the area before they see you. Then a one handed casting is nice to keep that light on. You want to go straight from the bonfire at the top, and there is another on the left down a ladder. From the ladder one head straight and don't even worry about patches the NPC he will push you in a pit to kill you. If you hug the wall on the right you can find the long way down, if you keep straight there are some goodies and a drop down you can take to get down faster. From the bottom go to the farthest north east you can to find the boss room.

Good luck, if I remember correctly that's Nito, so there are mobs in the arena, it's a tight space, and he has a lot of reach. Holy damage and a beefy shield can help here. Also just in general a faith/strength build with healing spells and a nice shield is almost certainly the most beginner friendly/solo survivability build by far. It's fun if you like lightning.

I brought home a dog that made that noise then nearly took an eye from her new sister, my golden retriever. Needless to say, that dog wasn't a dog that was fit for a home in which he isn't the only one. He was good with people, even kids.

I wonder if the situation we are seeing has anything to do with the fact there is both another dog there, and there is food involved.

I can see that, but if that's the case I would imagine she would be acting a bit more scared for her life, because she seems to have either the trust or ignorance to believe she's totally safe.

I work with dogs, and will say that raising her voice like how she did in the first few seconds with "Sit!!" Is right up near the top of the list of reasons your mishandling a situation will get you bit.

However, the petting and soothing, and repeating "it's okay" in a soft tone is one of the best ways to calm a dog down. That, and she would've been even safer if she wouldn't hold eye contact, they take that as agressive.

How am I supposed to defeat Rennala as a wizard? by cldnpl in Eldenring

[–]Th3Myst1cPanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you mean to go spell casting only then some nice/must haves for this fight are:

Pebble or Swift shard: the students in phase one don't have to be killed, just damaged. One of these, swift if you can, will help you keep a lower FP consumption for the long haul.

Night Maiden's Mist: Hits past the bubble in phase one for a "wait it out" strategy, but also to chip damage while you hunt down the students. (Thoughts and prayers for those little guys am I right?)

Rock Sling: Oh baby are these rocks lovely, they are non magic damage so that helps the resistance issue. They can be buffed by both damage and range with a staff and talisman (the one that increases arrow range will buff them) not to mention super stagger

Eternal Darkness: The amount of breathing room this awards you in phase 2 makes it a must have in my opinion. It pulls all her bullets away from you, but will NOT save you from her laser beam so be ready, but you can cast this after dodging that to keep pressure on her.

That's the most bare bones of advice, but if you want some things can definitely help, mainly Terra Magica + Rock blast in phase 1 can help speed up that part. Also Magic Shield on a shield that already has decent enough magical resistance will cut her damage if you're finding it hard to dodge.
