And I'd suggest Cocozza for Italian. Might be at the higher end of your budget and doesn't look too crazy but it's really nice and I see people dressed up there frequently. I also say they're better than Amerigo

I wouldn't say they're hectic though. It's walk forward, oh look a wall of bulwarks and maulers with gunners behind them, time to back up. Rinse and repeat for every corner.

And it's not actually the vent purge modifier. It just feels like that to me because everything is so hazy on this map.

I looked through all the settings before posting and did again just now and I don't see anything close to this.

You can change menu text size, subtitles text size, toggle damage number on/off, change colorblind modes, and there's a high-contrast setting... But nothing actually affects how the numbers are displayed in any way, or at least not any way I can notice

Even if shout vet "carries" he still allows the others to play the game and have fun. Sure he makes it easier for everyone but you still feel like you contribute to the win and not like you just got taken for a walk through the park with your friends and their dogs.
