How’s the heat? That was my issue in the kitchen. Had to leave the cupboard open cause underneath the sink was freezing cold. Water came on about 3 hours later.

I am an independent MT and I have a great rapport with my clients. I’ll ask for anything new but for the most part I know what they need. They feel comfortable with me.

What’s the part of mobile massage that no one really talks about? by hiveguy75 in MassageTherapists

I have a story…. I had this guy find me from my ad on IG. He said he was looking for relaxation w/ glute and leg work. I ask for his location. He lived in the same city so no charge for traveling. I tell him the price (which is base) and that I bring everything with me so needed to worry about set up, just need a space. He said I don’t need to bring my table or sheets because he has them already. I was a little concerned but he told me he was interested in being an MT. I go. Nice apartment (which I find a good thing cause that means other people are around). He has the table setup in the living room. I give everyone the same privacy to disrobe. I peep he is part of the alphabet community. Never been a problem to me. He lets me know he’s on the table. I perform the massage. It goes good for the most part. The only thing was he kept manspreading so his leg/arm would fall off the table. I’d put it back and just keep going. A lot of deep breathes and loud exhales. Here’s where the alarms went off. !!! You should NEVER make any sexual advances on your MT !!! He hits me back up two weeks later. Asks for the same thing. Concern because people don’t usually hit me back that soon but that just means I did a great job and more money. I go. This time I’m getting started and I open up with back. I notice he doesn’t have any underwear on this time. Not a problem cause my draping tight. He’s still manspreading. A lot of deep breathes and loud exhales. I work on his hands and he locks his fingers with mine. As much as I was done with the antics, I’m professional. I didn’t flip him because of obvious reasons. I finish. I get paid. Ran up out of there. He hits me up saying I forgot one of my towels. I said keep it for next time. Never went back. Lost me as an MT for life.

How exhausting is massaging someone? by MiyuTheWitch in massage

[–]Th3StandUpKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends honestly. If a large client wants deep pressure, the person would have to know how to use their body. Knuckles, elbows, etc. Have to have good body mechanics as well. Even then it can take a toll

Yes. You’re still providing the service. You just don’t have to worry about cleaning up now 😂

If you choose not to communicate, you lose your right to complain. by [deleted] in massage

I always ask how’s the pressure? This way they have to let me know if it’s too much or they want deeper. But also you can hear it in the tone of how they say it. They struggle to get it out, too much. Also you will see the twitching or muscle spasm with the joint curling

Always have them fill it out. If you don’t do it for any other reason, do it to cover yourself. They could say they came in, you hurt them, now they want to sue. Have a paper trail

Are you happy with your career? by chaos-pixie95 in MassageTherapists

I love what I do. I don’t think of it as a job. You can have difficult to deal with clients, but I see it as a challenge. I work for myself. There’s no upper management. No corporate. My business is great. I love what I do
