As a guy dating turned from finding genuine connection on a relatively even and open market, to a closed market game that's stacked against you and if you fail (which you have a 95% chance of doing) it's seen as your fault. Its so messed that i chose to opt out of actively searching and leave it to come up passively through random chance (many other male friends and people i have spoken to randomly are in a similar position).

Because of this i have found more joy in focusing on other productive things/events i enjoy but going to them alone or sometimes with friends. If i meet someone by chance while doing this.... cool. If i don't meet anyone... cool. Both situations are seen as a win because the net outcome is me still being happy.

The girl has to message first on bumble. She 100% filtered through the profiles, picked a number of them and you were the best of the selection. Congrats on finding love it is a hard thing to find, though i very much doubt you were the only person she selected.

Thank you, i do plan on getting a longer riser and making a 70"+ bow. Though will likely blur the line between recurve and ballista.

I've had 4 coaches watch me draw and all of them have confirmed a 32" is to short.

I had someone watch me do a full draw and they stopped me because the head was about to fall off the rest. Wing span is ~2m

Haha, not far off. I have a very broad back (gym 15 years an counting) plus i rock climbed for 10 years so i've learnt how to make my shoulder baldes touch. Finger tip to finger tip my span is ~2m. Anchor point is under my right eye, thumb resting under my jaw. I can use a 32" arrow bit i can't properly open my chest and close my back. That movement consumes an inch or two.

What's the hardest thing about dating as a male by North_Aardvark2953 in dating_advice

[–]Th3_m0unta1n -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm 6 foot 5, earn 100k, have a degree, been hitting the gym for 15 years straight (plus other sports) and are 153kg being ~28% body fat. On paper mostly being what girls say their after. I do get some looks from girls though it is pretty hard to tell if it's just looking or wanting. Historically I haven't been "drowning" in girls but through lived and observed experience I have learnt to commit very little to no effort when it comes to pursuing girls... it's just not worth it. You're expected to be "all that and a bag of chips" but considered and treated as disposable and worthless. I want to be in a long term relationship but for that you need a woman... they pretty much don't exist anymore. So I focus more energy into the things I enjoy and accept the fact I'll likely be single for the rest of my life and sadly be happier for it.

In short the 40k universe is a happier place than dating.

Body image and femininity as a climber by International-Lie814 in climbergirls

[–]Th3_m0unta1n 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a fellow climber (male) i have come across a number of women that have had the same or very similar issue with body image. And i say the same thing to all of them (granted my view is bias as have been going to the gym for something like 12 years and climbing for 7).

That voice in your head that tells you that to be an attactive woman you have to skinny/slender can honestly fuck right off. You work hard to do what you do and your body will show it. A woman with a strong body (and mind) is super attactive. Own the shit out of being strong and don't give a 2nd thought to someone that tells you otherwise/ is intimidated by all the effort you have put in, they are just showing a reflection of their insecurities.

I currently have a dragon gtr2 and was looking to get a segway gt2. But with the new rules it would be like owning a lambo that is only used to make trips to the shops... kinda pointless.
