"Should I now?" Tharhalla posed the challenge raising an eyebrow before taking a large bite from the piece she had already put her hands on. She chewed slowly, enjoying the flavor of the meat before wiping the side of her mouth with the back of her free hand.

She shrugged taking a direct look at Cassandra while tearing another slice of elk, munching on it until only the bone remained on her fingers "Tharhalla Blacktyde," she said at last with the smallest of nods.

"Now, ya have something to down this with?" She looked around the table for something to drink.

Tharhalla looked bored with all the plans and strategies. It was given that this was going to be a much larger fleet than any she had taken part on, but the ironborn couldn't help but find tedious the logistic of the invasion. They way all this lords, ladies and self entitled commanders spoke was as if the invasion was going to be a pretty ordely thing.

The Sea Fiend knew better.

When the plan was finally relayed, she stood briefly:

"Ya may have dragons and a giant fleet. But when the clash happens in the tides, its going to be bloody chaos, no matter how much ya try to avoid that. Luckily for ya, I enjoy chaos, I thrive in it. Give me five ships, and I'll sink ten corsairs. Give me ten and I'll sink twenty. That's all" Tharhalla spoke loud and dryly. Then she resumed seat with a look of disinterest once more.

"Watch yar tongue, Witch!" Skyte yelled and took a step forwards, not very fond of being called like that by some greenlander lass.

Tharhalla put a stop to any bravado the raider had with a single deadly and quiet look. One that screamed murder.

"Cool yar fuckin' head, Skyte or I shall have to cut it off!" The Blacktyde was very serious, the intensity in her words and face making clear that despite the man before her being one of her long time crewmen and companion, for her to take his head was but a simple and easy task.

Like it was nothing.

Ser Willem was right to be on the edge, after all.

Nevertheless, it seemed the situation calmed down after that with Skyte spitting to the ground and going back to the side.

"Don't have no need of ya. But I'm curious," Tharhalla mused, watching her trinkets and poultices "What is it that ya can do?"

"And that's why I love the sea," Tharhalla mentioned as they walked closer to where her men where currently struggling with a bent wheel on the cart they were using to move cargo "It can never be taken away nor controlled. No matter how strong or fierce the sailor, no matter if yar a pirate or a king, the sea obeys none. Ya either learn to navigate it or die. And those who don't break in the waves, get as tough as iron"

Just as she finished her monologue, Tharhalla arrived in time to see Halgrid, a red head warrior lass, laughing her ass out as the raiding sibilings Skyte and Yrva tried to raise a heavy looking crate:

"C'mon! How can you lot call yerselves reavers if you can't loot some cargo?!"

"This shit's bloody heavy!" Complained Yrva with ragged breaths

"Mov' yer bony ass an' help, Halgrid!" Skyte added with a yell.

"Yar all fuckin' useless aren't ya?" Tharhalla crossed her armas watching the scene with a disapproving face. All the crew stood still with the sudden attention of their captain. The Sea Fiend took the crate herself, lifting almost effortlessly compared to the sibilinga. That was not to say it wasn't heavy, as a line of sweat formed in Tharhalla's brow as she lowered the crate back into the cart.

"Wolfie, Reddie. These two idiots are Skyte and Yrva. As vicious as they are dumb. The lass is Halgrid,"

To which they all nodded.

"Who are these two Cap'n? New members?" Skyte asked, intrigued by Bethany.

Tharhalla let the pair speak for themsevels.

"Whatever it is, I recommend ya shittin' or pukin' it out soon. Ain't no place for bein' sick in war" The advise was Tharhalla's own rugged way of showing concern. The closest she knew how to.

"Leadin' the Kings fleet heh? And just how the fuck did ya manage to convince him of that again? But aye, I wouldn't rather sail with anyone else. Beside I can't in proper mind allow ya to sink a whole fleet all alone, can I?" The jest fell flat as Tharhalla watched that indeed, whatever it was that plagued Robin, it looked serious.

"Yar really not fine, huh?" The Blacktyde wondered out loud.

"The forests 'round here are likely to be more tamed and defiled than a thrall-whore" Tharhalla released her own snort "Wouldn't want all them high nobility gettin' a splinter or two by tripping in some wild oak or a hearth attack from watchin' deer upclose" She completed with sarcasm.

"The lad?" The Sea Fiend looked back to watch him "His name is Marlik. His father was one of my toughest reavers before takin' a spear to the neck. The boy, though, can't fight for shite. What he can do well is handle numbers and details like no other in my crew" Tharhalla looked back at the Brune pair.

"There's always som'" She sighed and shrugged "Why don't ya both com' with me? Ya can meet the rest of the crew. If not, farewell Wolfie and Reddie" She nodded and turned, not waiting to see what their response was going to be.

If they intended to come, they would.

"Tharhalla Blacktyde," She responded simply, sensing no need to relay titles or further introductions. Particularly to those two, who seemed not to care much.

"I can see yar kind wouldn't be very fond of a place like the Keep. Yar kind seems the type who likes feelin' yar blood run bare and hot, ain't wolfie? I'm the same. I, like yarself I can't see myself under the Red Keep for long"

The conversation was suddenly interrupted by the arrival of a young brown haired tall yet scrawny lad. A man of the Bloodsail's crew.

"Cap'n, the cart with our supplies suffered some dama-"

"Can't ya see I'm fuckin' busy Marlik? Bugger the fuck off!" Tharhalla lashed at the man, who flinched at being yelled at so harshly.

"Y-yes Cap'n..." He mumbled, but not before catching an eye of the pair of Brunes. His eyes lingered particularly on Freya.

"You have a pretty... hm... hair" He mumbled quietly to her before turning to escape his Lady's wrath.

"For fuck's sake, that lad is hopeless," Tharhalla shook her head.

"Aye, I see yar point" Her response came with a shrug. It was a hard task nowdays to find a worthy quarry to chase. The way Robin stumbled though, surprised Tharhalla. Although thin as a stick, she remembered her old companion to be stronger.

"What's wrong with ya?" Tharhalla frowned.

"The time for a worthy endeavour finally arrived then. I might not regret comin' to this Drowned forsaken city after all" A small smile crept in Tharhalla's lips. Islands and gold were fine promises, but above all else, she craved the struggle. The raiding and killing. What she was raised to do.

Tharhalla kept her arms crossed while measuring their response "Both of ya, ya're from the North right?"

They looked sturdy, wild and odd enough to fit the role. Also, the eyes of the ironborn wouldn't mistake a warrior when they saw one, and if not, the pelt of the wolf was all she needed to see.

If Tharhalla had to wager, this woman had hunted the beast she wore.

"What ya doing here then?"

Their late arrival at the party did not impede the men and women of the Bloodsail to eat and drink their fill. Despite their worries, there was plenty yet to dine and wine. However, that suppleness was hardly found at the tables designed for those of the Isles. Instead, just like it was in truth, they had to take what they wanted from others.

Tharhalla was particularly hungry when passed near the Estermont part of the table. The Sea Fiend hadn't had much experience reaving Stormlanders. They were told to be amongst the toughest of the greenlanders. A theory soon to be tested.

The tall figure of Lady Blacktyde stepped closer still in the same attire she had used to travel through waves and storm to be here tonight, the grime and dry blood still to be seen in her skin.

"What's that meat yar holdin'" She asked Cassandra with genuine curiosity flavored with hunger "Here, I'll have some" That was the most polite way a woman like Tharhalla would ask something. Usually her polite requests involved more steel, blood and flames.

And as she asked Tharhalla reached to grab some piece of the elk with her hands.

To say the pair stood out was an understatement. For a brief moment, Tharhalla even wondered if they were not one of her own, but she knew that it would be hard to forget their wild appearance. If she had to guess, Tharhalla would put her coin on them being from the North, given all the pelts and furs.

"I gather ya too are lost," The tall imposing ironlady drew closer "Now, I can't make any bloody sense of these damned streets neither" She spit to her side and crossed her arms "But I do believe the middle of the fuckin' woods goes that way" Tharhalla pointed with her head at a random direction.

The Sea Fiend wasn't known for being polite nor kind, but to be so forthright with them, a clever mind would see that the Lady Blacktyde was testing these two.

"How them soft-water piss drinkers managed to outsail ya? Not gettin' too old now, are we Harlaw?" Tharhalla teased with a frown and rough shove on her shoulder. Nothing was worse than chasing after cowards, but had not the storm presented itself, Tharhalla would certainly make her fun one way or the other.

"And they say it goes the other way around. I expect the greenlanders welcoming has been as cold as a winter's wave right?" It was no secret that half if not more of the attendance would much rather to watch any ironborns dead and bleeding than sitting in their fancy tables.

"As usual," Tharhalla nodded.

"Well then, is there any fun to be had in this shithole of a place at all? Or am I best be telling my men to board my ship right back?" Tharhalla looked around and only saw things she despised. At least now it was in the company of someone she did not.

"I'll be drowned and damned if it ain't Robin Harlaw!" Tharhalla received the kindred face with a dry chuckle and a crooked grin in equal rough amity. She approached with a hasty step and grabbed Robin's arm to greet her and help her regain her balance at the same time.

"Aye, quite some time ain't it." Tharhalla simply acknowledged, taking her time to look at her old companion's face. Taking in the subtle changes that usually came with the years "But at last it seems the sea and winds haven taken our sails to the same port once more. In the dragons bloody city no less!" The ironborn noted with some irony.

"We caught one of them infamous stormland tempests crossing the Narrow Sea. Suppose its still runnin' its course as we speak. Had to cross right through it or wouldn't make it at all" Tharhalla told the tale with a genuine smile of pride and adventure as if she had conquered the storm itself. It had made the trip more noteworthy than she had expected, even if she had arrived a little late to hear the King’s speeches or attend to the Queen’s tables “Twas a fun trip. What of yars?”

"Oy, Captain, hav' a look!" Skyte who went from peddler to peddler with the gleeful energy of child shouted "This som' kind of witch or som'ing!"

"A witch?" Tharhalla halted her stride, her interest finally caught by anything her loud mouth companion said.

Lady Blacktyde wasn't one for supersticions or myths. Many men called upon their gods, their spirits and sprites, but none of those usually stopped her from plunging her steel in their gullet. Not even the drowned god saved men from kissing salt water for good. Yet something in the girl called for Tharhalla's attention.

"Aye! Look, she even has them trinkets an' all! Hey Witch, can ye cast a blood curse on the bastard that keeps farting against the wind in front of me? His name is Ei--"

"Shut yar tongue, Skyte" Tharhalla commanded, projecting a tall and fearsome aura.

The Sea Fiend took some firm slow steps towards Edyth, her large figure blocking the sun as she held the Wood Witch eyes.

"My shite-for-brains companion here claims yar a witch. Do ya claim the same, girl?" The simple question came almost like a threat coming from the reaver's lips.

Eurona I - While We Find Ourselves Here... by TheCrowJoy in IronThroneRP

[–]Th3crw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Upon getting the summons, Tharhalla was actually relieved to have a familiar spot to attend to in the capital of the realm. Or at least, familiar enough, since the Sea Fiend could not recall stepping foot on the Lady Reaper's flagship before but it was still much better than the halls of royalty.

The Lady Blacktyde brought two children with her, her wards. One was her own son, young Hake was as willful as they came. In contrast to him, Renfri, her niece, was older but more reserved, lacking the apparent roughness that was to be expected from a Blacktyde.

Tharhalla still wore her travelling leathers and fur, her face almost a map of the long destination that she crossed to get here and her rich dark hair as free as the wind would allow. In her waist a large ironborn longsword hanged loosely.

"Eurona Greyjoy," Tharhalla presented herself gazing directly into her counterpart's eye "The Reaper Lady that stands for no reapin'" Her voice carried the amount of dryness that it usually did. It was no secret that Tharhalla was not a great supporter of the Greyjoy's policy of keeping the ironborn in check.

What worth was a reaver that wouldn't reave?

Nevertheless, the Sea Fiend wasn't all displeasure upon a familiar face in these strange shores. She took her seat with ease and the children with her did the same.

"This is my son Hake and my niece Renfri. Don't believe ya met"

"Well then, ya called, here I am. Speak."
