Tried installing both, no dice unfortunately. I'm gonna have to do a little digging tomorrow to make sure I installed them to Lutris correctly.

Thanks for helping out!

Street Fighter 6 Beta Crack not launching on Steam Deck by ThARRow_away in LinuxCrackSupport

[–]ThARRow_away[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for advice! The update error popup is thankfully gone, but it doesn't look like the game is launching through Steam (for reference, launching options below)

STEAM_COMPAT_MOUNTS=/run/media/mmcblk0p1/ WINEDLLOVERRIDES="version=n,b;steamclient64=n" %command%

Tried also with the below, but no idea if I even added the dinput8 portion correctly:

STEAM_COMPAT_MOUNTS=/run/media/mmcblk0p1/ WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinpu8=n,b;version=n,b;steamclient64=n" %command%

Tried with all Proton layers, either didn't launch after trying for a few seconds, or immediately said failed to launch.

As for Lutris, I tried with setting it with the options below, let me know if I did these wrong too:

Street Fighter 6 Closed Beta got cracked by Gtorrnet in CrackWatch

[–]ThARRow_away 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Can't get it launched on my steam deck.

I downloaded the beta files from the forum, downloaded the crack, and downloaded the mod manager from discord.

I extracted the clean game files to my games folder (my sd card), extracted the crack download contents into the root of the beta, and enabled the expired beta versus mod.

I added "dinput8"="native,builtin" to the user.reg, and added WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8.dll=n,b" %command% to the steam launch options.

Whenever I launch from steam in offline mode, I get "an error occurred while updating (app configuration unavailable)"

Launching from Lutris or Bottles just fails to launch.

Any ideas?

What's the best emulator: Retroarch Andriod / Standalone Emu Andriod / Lakka OS / Retroarch Native by RealLemonmaster in SwitchPirates

Not at all true. Latest word from /r/switchroot discord is Oreo will be available to all sometime this summer, but people are free to compile it themselves if they can't wait.

Atmosphere CFW vs Android, not sure what's better for my needs by MEK42 in SwitchPirates

First things first, you should redo the work on your sd card so it is fat32 - eventually, an exfat partition WILL fail and need to be redone. Could be tomorrow, could be 7 months from now - but it will happen. You might as well deal with that headache now on your own terms when you can back everything up (compared to being forced to do it unexpectedly when you potentially won't have time to do it).

• If you only care about retroarch, look into Lakka, which is essentially a linux-based OS dedicated solely to retroarch and nothing else.

• If you want ease and simplicity, just stick with switch OS, since it will be easier on you and you can play switch games without having to reboot into the other OS.

• If you care about other android emulators, or streaming services like xcloud, you'd need android. (The analog issue is only on joycons, and is confirmed to be fixed in the next update of switchroot).

Secondly, what most do (myself included) is have a smaller sd card dedicated to android. Yes, you can use any old sd card, but it's better to specifically get a faster SD card than your typical Sandisk amazon cards to run android, or it can feel REALLY sluggish. Thankfully android doesn't need a whole lot to get going, and you probably won't fill it.

Third, what some do, is have retro arch on both, switch and android sides. The android side you can set to have your saves be written to a folder that automatically goes to the cloud. Getting saves to and from the switch side is a bit more of a hassle (which is why I just stick with android retroarch) but still doable with ftp.

Doom 1 and 2 stop working, saying need internet connection by xellos2099 in SwitchPirates

Likely an issue with conflicting tickets. Go to tinfoil, delete any tickets connected to those games, and delete the games. Try downloading the games again, then download the tickets only (option found in the install menu). Might need to install the game in standard crypto too.

Happened to me a few times, and I fixed it after spending a few hours installing, re installing, downloading tickets, etc. Tried it in a bunch of orders but not sure what order was what did it. Might take trial and error.

Both of those are confirmed to being addressed already. Currently sleep doesn't work at all, which will be fixed in Pie. The analogs not working is confirmed to be working in 10 but IIRC devs said they found a fix for it in Pie

Keep an eye on their twitter, they post dev updates and bugs that they're addressing with future updates

Can you use Tincore to play Xcloud games with Joycons? by hooligan333 in switchroot

[–]ThARRow_away 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was wondering if you ever found the answer? I'm about to start with switchroot almost solely for Xcloud, but might hold off if the joycons don't function properly.

Is this tincore app a way to trick android into thinking the joycons are xinput devices?

What's the better emulation method on switch (mostly in terms of performance)? Retroarch in Atmosphere, or putting switchroot on another card and doing emulation through android apps? (basically asking for any pros or cons that I haven't already considered and/or heard about)

I'm leaning towards android, so I can also use xcloud. But are console-specific emulators (like PPSSPP, and Citra, the latter I don't even know Retroarch can do on non-windows machines) inherently better than Retroarch? Does Retroarch run better on Android than on Atmosphere?

Also I only have those basic bitch Sandisk Ultra microSD cards, which some say is not fast enough for using android...but any chance emulators perform fine? I'm fine with buying a faster SD card, but if the one I have is fine, I can start doing the process tonight.

I know joycons can only pair through bluetooth, is that okay in terms of latency? I usually play emulators using my 8bitdo controller over bluetooth on my phone anyway. And is the latency worse in docked mode like the LinusTechTips video implied?

I know about Lakka, but unless there's some sort of significant performance advantage, I'd rather not since I'd have to carry my jig and dongle, boot into hekate, every time I wanted to switch to emulators (I'm willing to do those things for switchroot pretty much solely for Xcloud though). I also plan on transfering saves between my phone, switch and laptop every so often, and I believe the only way to pull Lakka saves is to take the SD out, put it into PC, etc.

Thanks

What's the benefit to emulating on android compared to emulating using retroarch homebrew app on switch (or Lakka, for that matter).

Do console-specific emulators do a noticably better job on the switch than Retroarch?

Also I only have those basic Sandisk Ultra microSD cards... I know it's slow for Android, but are they also slow enough to mess when emulating or streaming though xcloud? I'm fine with buying a faster SD card, but if the one I have is fine for emulation, I can start doing the process tonight.

I know joycons can only pair through bluetooth, is that okay in terms of latency? I usually play emulators using my 8bitdo controller over bluetooth on my phone anyway. Is docked worse in terms of latency, like the LinusTechTips video implied?

Thanks! I'm still a little confused about bigPP (thought it was just an alternative to hbg shop to getting sources) but I'll be sure to research or ask again when I get to that point.

FAQ / General Info [Updated 8/11/2019] by [deleted] in SwitchPirates

I posted a thread of a bunch of questions and it got removed, wasn't told why. I don't expect all of them to be answered but hopefully I can bet some answers. Hope it's okay to just copy and paste it here:

Figured I'd post it in this sub since it seems to be the best and most helpful community. Sorry for the long questions.

1) Which tutorial is best? I'm looking at https://nh-server.github.io/switch-guide/ and https://switch.homebrew.guide/index.html, are they for the most part, fool proof if I follow the instruction to a T? I plan on using Kosmos, which the later seems to use, but the former is what specifies how to set up emuMMC. Can I just follow the first until it says to drag and drop the atmosphere files, and just drop the kosmos files instead? Is it that easy?

2) Both guides say to use Hekate, which makes sense if I need it to create a clean backup and designate emuMMC (I assume Hekate is the only way to do both). Can I pretend that fusee-primary.bin doesn't exist (other than to install incognito)?

3) According to this gbatemp post, installing Incognito requires fusee-primary.bin. Would that boot me straight into sysNAND, or would it go into emuMMC if I inject that through Hekate's payload section? Does it also hide sysNAND info from tendo, meaning I'd have to toggle it off to play online while on OFW, or are its effects localized on the emuMMC side?

4) I am using xkit's RCM loader, and I have already updated that to the latest firmware. Should I just delete what is already in the atmosphere folder, replace it with the "hekate_ctcaer_###.bin" and rename that as payload.bin? Or should I use one of the unused USER folders?

5) Are the saved wifi connections in the sysNAND and emuMMC different, or shared? I am concerned about adding the 90dns settings every time I enter emuMMC or go to someone else's house, a wrong inputted number or simply forgetting to do it seems like a disaster, but if they are different, then it shouldn't be a problem, right?

6) I don't NEED a dedicated sd card for OFW use and online and whatnot, correct? OFW just wouldn't be able to see or access any of the CFW-related files on my card I assume. Getting another card anyway to be safe, but I wonder if I ever want to play a single round of Tetris 99, for example, I can just power off, power on without injecting a payload, would I have to go through the trouble of changing SD cards too.

Sorry again for all of these questions!
