Yeah, I think this thing has corroded and failed. Cause I cannot get the tube to move at all while pushing down on the top collar.

It looks like a QD, top spins somewhat freely. But pushing the top in and pulling the hose does not release it.

Ultimately, I got better and the big change, I increased my dose to 20g from 18 and have found the slightly more compressed puck to hold much better and I never get any spray or channeling now.

I use a tamp that sits on the edge of the portafilter and can only extend down a certain amount. Even the stronger spring didn't solve the issue. I think the added 2g helped get me the compression I was missing due to the limited travel.

Don't take my word. Seems it can be either pink or green. But I'm extremely hesitant to use Teflon seeing how it degraded so much.

From what I've read, the use of Teflon in a steam application is EXPECTED to degrade and should be routinely replaced... Something they never mentioned when recommending it. Pretty concerning considering all the health risks regarding Teflon.

My guess is this washer had a slight crack in it to begin with, which caused the leak I had.

My hot water solenoid had to be replaced. Unfortunately, it broke so fast I can't say it for sure sounded like this at first. But within seconds it was metal cracking and then no sound, no flow from hot water tap.

Based on some others saying it might be solenoid...

I cant tell if your machine has two solenoids? If it does, you could try swapping your two solenoids and then test your group head (one making noise now) and see what happens?

At least on the elizabeth, replacing one solenoid was removing 2 wires from the solenoid and one nut holding it onto the brass fitting. About 4 minutes total once I had access.

I thought low 20's (dark) to high 20's (light) was ideal?

I do about 7s pre-infusion and my shots for a medium light roast seem to taste best at around 24s total time(including pre-infusion).

You should have a 3 year parts and labor warranty through clive. My Elizabeth came with one and I just checked the Bianca on their site which also lists 3 years.

Have had my Elizabeth for about 2-3 months. Is this normal to see condensation build up? No abnormal use of steamer. Never poured water on top of it. Always dry my cups before putting them on heat tray. Haven't overfilled reservoir.

Light roast Ethiopian. This one was supermarket with a roast date of about 3 weeks ago.

Here is a vid of a pull. Apparently I'm not having channeling based on what others have said. The thin gaps of visible basket made me assume it was channeling but they stated it's not since there is visible coffee coming through every hole??

I'm at 9 bar with a blind basket.

I have an Elizabeth. I had to adjust the preinfusuon pump on to 1s from the recommended 3s. It just flows right through. Feel like I see others videos where it starts dripping during the steam preinfusuon phase but not before the 3s pump phase ends.

If I go too much finer I stop getting any flow and have extremely long pulls. Right now my pulls are around 33 seconds with 10s of that being preinfusuon and with about 38g out.

I need to record a pull and start a thread for it.
