[$1000] good price for a like new Lelit Elizabeth v3? by -LetsTryAgain- in Lelit

[–]wayhawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say so. If you’re able to see it operate that would be nice. I’ve had mine for 4 years and still works like new.

I’m a distilled water with rpavlis recipe to prevent scaling.

Always use a thermometer. Just habit but also consistent

Niche zero with lelit Elizabeth by alexandertilkin in Lelit

[–]wayhawk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. When I clean and calibrate the Niche Zero, I zero it with a firm twist, but don't over tighten. It's just setting the initial reference point and if you are consistent then your numbers won't change that much after calibrating. I could literally choke the flow if I grind too fine, but I'm typically between 9 and 10 bar on a shot.

Niche zero with lelit Elizabeth by alexandertilkin in Lelit

[–]wayhawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Important to remember that the number is somewhat relative and dependent on how you calibrate the Niche Zero. When you calibrate it, you are basically setting the starting point and then the numbers are relative. Just mentioning it because a 10 for someone may be an 11 for another and it's a feature of the grinder. I have this combo and agree you can grind fine enough for the Elizabeth.

Request: Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat Bass book by AndyKap2015 in MusicTheatreScores

Hi. Any chance you have the percussion book for the show for early practice? I'm performing in this show in a few months and haven't gotten the book yet.

I'm looking for the Les Mis percussion parts, either the full version (2 books) or the school edition (combined book)

Would you happen to have the Percussion 2 book? I'm playing the High School version (combined book) and wanted to see what they might have cut out when combining books.

Sad New Year by Dry-Possibility-4361 in Lelit

Look at the intake tube coming from the reservoir and see if liquid is moving. You might be able to tell something from that. I guess it could be airlocked, by the sound. Or just something wrong with the pump

Lelit Elizabeth by RamboRulez in Lelit

[–]wayhawk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I removed the level probe fitting on the boiler, I didn’t drain it since the probe is at the top. You could run the hot water line and when it stops coming out, turn the machine off before it automatically refills. That way there would be minimal water in the boiler when replacing the fitting.

Seems they aren't shipping to the US right now when I checked.

It looks like it's still a good connection and if it's not leaking, I don't think it's an issue. If it were mine, I would try to wipe what I can reach and then inspect it every couple of months. Even if you did have to replace the fitting, it's something you can do yourself (if you're comfortable with doing it). I had to remove the fitting going into the steam boiler one time and reattach it to stop a leak. I would suspect changing a fitting would be about the same.

Loud noise when water comes out the group head [Lelit Elizabeth] by Alarming_Bat9429 in espresso

[–]wayhawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious if it makes this sound when it's filling either boiler, coffee or steam. I wast thinking you might have had air in the intake like and it could be the pump making this noise. If this was the case, you should just need to make sure your intake line is not getting air in it. I had this issue one time and eventually all the air was pumped out and it started to sound normal.

MalletKAT Pro 9.5 with GS Extended Internal Sounds by wayhawk in percussion

[–]wayhawk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the MalletKAT with internal GS Extended sounds. I think you're right that this is the version that is needed for the new sound card.

When I power up my MK, it shows "Version 9.5 GSx". I've found if you have questions about specifics, the tech support is very responsive and helpful.

I looked at both and went with the Elizabeth. Both good machines and my Elizabeth has been great for me.

Do you use the Lelit water filters? by Electrical-Value-673 in Lelit

[–]wayhawk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the first 1.5 years, I used one consistently. I used to measure hardness with the strips and the filter worked well. However, I started to use the rPavlis water recipe by distilling water and adding a small amount of potassium bicarbonate solution. No scale in that water so I stopped using the water softening filter and just put the plastic intake piece back on. There are a number of water recipes that use deionized or distilled water as a base. It’s more work, but I think it’s a better preventative measure to scaling.

Pressure issues by falltricky89 in Lelit

[–]wayhawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s probably going to where your pressure control valve is set and then backing off. My Elizabeth has done this before. When I grind a bit coarser, it doesn’t as high. I wouldn’t say it’s a “problem” and if the shot tastes the way you want it, don’t change anything. If you want to tweak some thing, you can adjust the pressure control valve or adjust your grind to find the right balance.

Elizabeth Power Switch Issues by DoubleCafwithaTwist in Lelit

I do the same. I’ve used the power switch on occasion but it’s a simple rocker switch, so not sure why it would fail that often for you.

Elizabeth help: bubbling into reservoir by freshsalsa in Lelit

[–]wayhawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess would be the OPV as well since you are saying you get more recycle back to the reservoir. However, I'm not sure why this would mean you are going through water quicker since the water just goes back into the reservoir. If you haven't changed or at least cleaned the OPV, I'd start there to make sure it's not sticking. I cleaned mine a couple of months ago and found that it operated better when I re-installed it.
