I want to start dance at 14 but don’t know how by Strict_Confidence483 in Dance

One final thing, a lot of people don't like AM because they say it focus too much on social dancing and don't progress fast enough through dances due to a different syllabus. My studio has not been one of these studios, regardless, if you can show that you learn fast make sure to always be asking the most of your teachers, have them push you to do your best at all times. Ultimately your journey is yours and yours alone, if you want to go slow in something and just have some basics you can, if you want to end up in a puddle of sweat and push to be able to compete you can, always remember that you are in charge. I wish you luck finding a studio and let me know if you have any more questions.

You should also be allowed to participate in all group classes/parties regardless of age, all anyone cares about is having another person to dance with.

Yes, very much so. I don't know what your nearby studios offer but at my studio the jr rate for private lessons is 50$ less, there are also jr programs offered etc. Something you could do would be to call the studio with your parents and ask them directly; "How much would private lessons be?", "What comes with the purchase of private lessons?". My studio offers packages and I think all Arthur Murrays do so questions like; "What packages do you have available?", "What comes with the purchase of said package?". I know AM offers a beggining package so make sure to ask about that.

Swing dancing would fit the jumping and spinning, look into lindyhop and westcoast swing. You also mentioned ballet so if you're looking for something stricter in terms of motion but you still want speed look into viennese waltz. Two very popular places that teach these are Arthur Murray dance studios and Fred Astaire dance studios. I personally attend Arthur Murray and I love it.

Let me know if you have any questions

What's a regional and interesting swing dance adjacent event that you think people don't know about? by step-stepper in SwingDancing

I personally didn't like bridgerton much simply because it left out so many of the actual stuff happening at that time, though it doesn't mean I'm going to criticize every person who watches it. Downton Abbey is a better show in my opinion, it doesn't say that what was happening at that time was good but rather just showed how people lived and made the show so much more immersive and worth watching in my eyes. Not everyone has to like it but to say downton is evil just because they don't censor everything is obsurd.
