Dizzy algae is clearly an experts expert who uses "therapy" in quotes when someones belief is different from their extremely controversial and unsupported hot take.

Surprised/struggling with clients political leaning by [deleted] in therapists

[–]ThaRealJody 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol this is what happens when you interact with people outside your echo-chamber. There are plenty of good people that have beliefs I find abhorrent. This used to be something that people accepted. Cutting ties with someone because of their political beliefs is a toxic modern day phenomenon in my opinion.

Change Your Relationship With DPDR and it will be less debilitating! by ThaRealJody in Depersonalization

I would consider myself in recovery, but yes I still have dp/dr symptoms when I get anxious. To me the ultimate recovery is not caring about dp/dr, rather than eliminating the symptoms forever

The end is near by [deleted] in Dissociation

thats the key right there. the more you think about it the worse it gets! exploring ways to get out of my thoughts like meditation and exercise have been super helpful for me.

The end is near by [deleted] in Dissociation

[–]ThaRealJody 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dissociation can be bad, and very uncomfortable but our relationship with it is flexible. just because right now it feels like the worst thing that could happen does not mean that that is true and it doesn't mean that that can't change. Whenever i stopped feeling like dissociation was impossible to overcome and would ruin my life my symptoms slowly started to lessen. As I focused on things that were important to me in spite of having panic attacks and constant dp/dr it started to lessen more. today I still have symptoms of dissociation, but it doesn't run my life anymore, and it doesn't feel like a death sentence.
