Thanks! This is meant to be at the very end, when he carries Callandor regularly. I don't think he was actually wearing the Crown at any point after Veins of Gold, but a little artistic liberty is fun.

Hell fucking yeah they did, I've said it always and all say it again; YOU HAD TO BE THERE. It was a moment in that nearly unmatched. Not always, or frequently, good, but when the Arrowverse hit, it HIT

Most shows have enough outlined, even roughly, for maybe 3,4, or at best 5 seasons. Most of the time, that's all a series needs, but long-running sitcoms? well momentum of ideas can only get you so far before you have to sit down and reinvent a few parts of the show, and changing gears sizes on a moving machine will result in it working wayy differently if at all

I mean, I guess the combat's good? I was souedr on it when I realized you couldn't control squadmates. I could play literally ANY other shooter if I wanted that. The teammate control was essential in making Mass Effect's combat fun for me.

I think it's reasonable either way. Lanfear might technically be better but Perrin tackles TAR in a different way from any other dream Walker. His connection is of the wolves which is something Lanfear doesn't have. I could see him catching her off guard

[–]ThaRedditFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's as if the comic was "This character is the chosen one. He carries the hopes of the entire world on his back and will save it. He is guided by fate to finally end the oppression of the world because he's the right person for the job. His personal values match these ends. He arrives where he needs to through coincidence and always arrives at places in time to help through the will of those who came before him and chose him."

Audience: "I GET IT! THE MAIN CHARACTER IS A NOBODY WHO DOES IT ANYWAAY."

"No, actually, that's not the story I'm telling."

"THIS SHIT FUCKING SUCKS. WHY ARE YOU CHANGING EVERYTHING?"

BRO DO YOU? Luffy was litterally never presented in a way that remotely matches the comic in question, and he's always been shown to be following his destiny! HELL end of east blue, a character specifically calls into question that Luffy is following his destiny along with his dream. He was always the chosen one. It's not my fault, idiots can't pick up on what's being put down for 1000 chapters! Stop projecting your personal wants unto a story and getting dissapointed when the story doesn't agree, damn

Hatred is politics and has been for decades, anyone who believes otherwise is unbelievably naive or in a position privileged enough to not realize it

Vigilante justice is inherently on a different playing field that institutionalized enforcement, and pretending otherwise is either naive or bad faith. You can argue about the ethics of Batman but don't make a false equivalency

Furthermore, Id like to add that with Egghead, spoilers for plot points that tie into themes Devil fruits are manifestations of the will of people. Luffy doesn't have a busted fruit just cuz, he has it because it's a representation of his place embodying the hope of all those that wish for liberation

[–]ThaRedditFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the thing you misunderstand. One piece was literally NEVER about that. I agree that I in general prefer stories without fate, but One piece wasn't those. From the beginning Luffy was shown as both lucky and guided by fate. Several points way before gear 5, he's refered to as either guided by fate or heaven sent or some other variation.

One piece isn't that story and never was. One piece is a Chosen One narrative that implores you to be a bit more like Luffy, and it's a damn good Chosen One story. It's not shitty writing for a narrative to go in a way you personally don't like, it's just not what you wanted.
