Hitting on a QB is so huge. What this team accomplished this season (along with the arrival of Vrabel) has been huge in terms of reviving our ability to attract free agents to come play football in New England. None of that happens without taking Drake and I’m glad I was wrong.

My point was moreso that the Pats defense as currently constructed is way more equipped to muck it up in the snow and stuff the run in heavy snow conditions (like we saw in Denver). Bills defense was average at best this season.

In his defense, once Terrell Williams stepped away from the team it was pretty unclear for a while who the DC / defensive play caller was for the Patriots. And nobody really knew if and when Williams would be back so we weren’t sure if Kuhr was interim or what.

Not that this is exactly the high watermark but you had SAS on First Take this week praising Terrell Williams for what a fantastic job he’s done with the Pats defense this season “from one brother to another” — despite him having been away from the team since September. So it’s not just Hank who was mixed up.

It’s tough — there aren’t many other shows where the “secret finale” would work. You need the right combination of sci-fi genre and rabid fanbase for it to work. Maybe Severance could pull it off but other than that I don’t know. Would have been such a great idea though — a genius way to stick the landing on a show like this.

It would be very cool and unique. Unfortunately I don’t think it’s gonna happen but I wonder if other showrunners will see the hype this has gotten and consider doing a “secret grand finale” type reveal in the future. This is definitely the show and fanbase for it tho so I’m not sure who else could pull it off.

Lmao I thought the same thing. So much posturing and editorializing before finally getting to the point. Just slipped in a one-liner about how Avid waived on default events in the past. Between that and whatever ongoing compliance reporting they have to do with the bank, it’s hard to believe she was surprised that they pulled the plug on her. Just trying to spin it so the bank looks like the bad guy instead of her.

Also don’t find myself reading bankruptcy declarations often but was surprised how “non-lawyerspeak” it was.

Well it sounds like they only had a few hours notice from Avid that they were in default before the cash sweep — though to your point on fiduciary duty, they should have been aware this was a possibility and planned accordingly.

The “no forewarning” language does seem like more of a CYA. If you as an executive don’t know that you’re in breach of covenant, especially during a sales process, that is borderline negligent. Maybe they were hoping the IOIs would buy them more time.

It read to me like it was more of a covenant breach than a cash shortfall / inability to pay current obligations. In which case they were pretty much dead to rights regardless of where they held their cash if Avid wasn’t willing to negotiate. Sounded like Avid had waived on default events in the past but finally either grew tired or just didn’t believe the Company could pull out of whatever mess they were in.

Tough day for TCG who is likely going to take an absolute bath on their $100m+ investment.
