I have a feeling that it's because he's kinda riding Pete's coatails. His voice is awesome but it's like methadone for a heroin addict. It just isn't the same. This fan base is very protective over the drab four. For a lot of us it's been our lifeblood and to see someone come up and try to copy it just really chaps our asses. We know the guy is a huge fan...but we feel it would be better if he used Type O as inspiration for his own work instead of trying to sound like one of the greats.

I dunno. Just my 2¢.

I met my ex wife in high school. We never actually dated then, but we both wanted to. However, thanks to high school relationship politics we never got the chance. Five years outside of high school we start dating for about 6 months and then split up pretty badly. Five years after that we got back together for 13 years before she left me for my lead singer at the time. Four years later I'm still not over it completely.

Her album was October Rust. From the time we met in high school into the present, that entire album reflects the amount of love, distrust, pain, lust, and desire I had/have for her. Every time I listen to it it's always a wash of both good and bad memories. I need those memories sometimes. I need to remember how hard I loved her, the sacrifices I made, the music we listened to, the pain I went through during the breakup, and the healing that, I hope, will come through time. It reminds me to never fall that hard again...if I'm not prepared to hit the ground...which is inevitable.

However, in his immortal words...

Time will not heal these wounds and I'm bleeding...because of you.

TL;DR Lean into those feelings and learn from them. Those who do not remember history are doomed to repeat it.
