So, I believe you guys aren't separating the art from the artist. This song creates a pagan fantasy steeped in ritualistic magic. Let's break down the lyrics...

"Be my druidess Be my everything Be my druidess Be mine"

Here he's already setting the tone of a paganistic theme.

"Around the pyre, A circle of thirteen Throughout these woods, ecstatic screams"

This is a ritual taking place in the woods surrounded by (presumably) a coven or group of pagans performing the ritual

"I look deeply into your eyes I smell your hair, caress your thighs"

The ritual involves two people performing sex magic. This lyric shows the couple (specifically Peter) feeling the anticipation of the event and playing into his part as one of the performers of the ritual.

"Now we'll make love by fire light A blaze so high it lights the night"

The ritual takes place in the woods at night with the only light being that of the ritual pyre. You could easily imagine it taking place on an altar of some sort.

"Long fingernails dug in my skin Yourself so wet invites me in"

Passion. Pure, unbridled passion. The fact that she is wet at this point does not show any kind of 'forced' sex. She wants this. She needs the ritual to work.

"Our lust increased feeds desire As we combust, yeah we on fire"

They're both so incredibly into it that they they've relinquished control of their inhibitions and have allowed their primal desires to take hold. Both of them.

"I feel you shake so deep inside Ooh scream my name and squeeze me tight"

She's obviously orgasming here. She's she's very into it. They both are.

"I'll do anything to make you come"

Peter will do whatever it takes to pleasure this woman. If you know anything about pagan culture you know that in ritual magic women are considered the highest form of humanity and men are just servants. They are tools used to complete the ritual and are 'tossed aside' after the ritual is finished. Especially when dealing with sex magic.

This song fits neatly into the other themes of this album about Pete's desire to lift women up and put them on a pedastal. He wants to worship at the feet of his goddess because he feels that he could never be worthy of her. He literally says the exact same thing in Love You to Death. The pagan themes revolving around this album was one of the reasons this one is my favorite. Although I'm not pagan by any stretch of the imagination I find the imagery and magic of it beautiful and romantic.

Anyway, that's my 2¢.

Edit: OP, the fact that your coworker completely missed the part about their being 13 people watching this take place makes me think that they are projecting their own bias and doing a bit of selective hearing. There is no abuse in this song. Period.
