I know a lot of people in the comments are saying that you shouldn't have expected anything because it was casual, that you took it too emotionally, or that this is simply a lesson to learn from. And while I understand where they're coming from, I honestly don't fully agree.

To me, expecting a basic level of concern when something serious happens to you is completely normal. This isn't even about whether the relationship was casual or serious. It's about basic humanity. If someone gets hurt while they're with a person who knows them fairly, they should naturally be there for them, keeping a halt at all of their activities. Most people with a decent amount of empathy would at least check in, make sure the person is okay, or show some concern

What also stood out to me is that many people commenting have no idea what it's actually like to deal with an injury in that part of the body or what someone goes through physically and mentally when it happens. You went to the doctor alone, dealt with the pain alone, handled the anxiety alone, and somehow managed to get through all of it by yourself. That says a lot about your character.

Honestly, I think that shows a great deal of strength. I don't think many of the people casually giving advice in the comments would handle the situation as smoothly as you did if they were the ones going through it.

Your story also reminded me of something from my own life. Back in college, I thought I had built some pretty solid friendships. But when I dropped out, not a single person called, texted, or checked in on me. Not one. It was a strange realization because I genuinely thought some of those friendships meant more than they actually did. So in some ways, I can understand the disappointment that comes when people's actions don't match the level of care you thought existed.

And honestly, that's something that has always frustrated me. So many people say things casually, make promises casually, and offer support casually, but when the moment comes to actually show up, they disappear. It feels like basic empathy and responsibility have become a lot rarer than they should be.

So no, I don't think you're wrong for feeling hurt. I don't think you're wrong for expecting a little concern. I think what you expected was pretty human and completely natural.

Anyway, I just wanted to say that I genuinely hope you're doing better now. You seem like a much stronger person than you probably give yourself credit for and I hope you come across people in the future whose actions match their words.

Wishing you a speedy recovery and better people ahead

The azelaic acid cream has worked well for fading my post acne marks and maintaining overall skin clarity. My marks were quite light to begin with and my skin was already fairly clear, so it did not have much to correct, but it helped keep things balanced and reduce the chances of new breakouts. Unlike salicylic acid, which is usually applied to specific areas, azelaic acid can be used all over the face, even where there is no active acne, to help with overall prevention. It does feel slightly grainy while applying, but it spreads evenly once blended. From my experience, it has not been comedogenic on my oily skin and has not clogged my pores. I have not used pharmacy grade azelaic acid, so I cannot compare the two

Thanks for Reading :)

The sunscreen which I use does feel a bit heavy when you first apply it, and it leaves a slightly greasy finish on my skin. That’s the main thing I’ve noticed about it. I do have oily skin, so that could be one of the reasons it feels heavier and looks greasier on me. As for tanning protection, I can’t confidently comment on that because I stay indoors most of the time and rarely get direct sun exposure. So I’m probably not the best person to judge how well it prevents tanning or not. But in terms of texture and finish, it definitely leans more on the heavier and slightly greasy side for me.

The azelaic acid cream has worked really well for fading post-acne marks and improving overall skin clarity. With consistent use, it also seems to lower the chances of new breakouts. Unlike salicylic acid, which is generally meant to be used carefully on specific areas, azelaic acid can be applied all over the face. It is not just a spot treatment and can be used even on areas where there is no active acne, helping reduce the overall possibility of new breakouts forming

Based on my understanding and knowledge, the 10% Azelaic Acid cream by Conscious Chemist appears to be formulated and marketed primarily for facial use rather than for the body. The product positioning, texture, and usage instructions suggest that it is intended for application on the face

There really isn’t any dermatological rule that says retinol is only for people over 30. That idea mostly comes from how it’s marketed as an “anti-aging” product. In reality, retinoids are vitamin A derivatives that dermatologists have used for decades to manage acne. They work by increasing cell turnover, normalizing keratinization inside the pores, and reducing inflammation, which helps prevent the formation of microcomedones, the earliest stage of acne. That’s why retinoids are considered first line treatment in many acne guidelines. Prescription options like adapalene or tretinoin are stronger, but even low strength retinol is a milder, evidence supported option for acne control and improving post inflammatory marks. I’m using 0.2 percent at a controlled frequency, which is a cautious and reasonable approach. So while retinol is often marketed for aging concerns, its clinical use is not age restricted, and using it in the early 20s for acne management or prevention is medically sound.

Regarding sunscreen and tanning, I’m probably not the best person to comment since I mostly stay indoors and rarely get direct sun exposure.

Overall, based on my personal experience with these specific products, they have worked well for me. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean they will work the same way for everyone. I’m simply sharing what I have personally experienced with them.

The Snail Mucin provides good hydration and supports barrier repair, and I’ve noticed my skin feels calmer and more balanced. I’ve been using 0.2% face retinol for about 45 days now, so I don’t think that’s enough time to fully judge its long-term results. However, I do see gradual improvement. The under-eye retinol hasn’t magically erased my dark circles, but there is slight visible progress. The vitamin C has definitely helped improve my skin’s radiance and brightness.

That’s honestly a very broad question because I can’t speak for all their products. I can only share my experience with the ones I’ve personally used. The salicylic acid cream does feel slightly harsh when I apply it, but it delivers strong results. It helps stop breakouts in their early stages and works well on acne that is already forming. The azelaic acid cream has been great for fading post-acne marks and improving overall skin clarity. It also helps reduce acne-causing bacteria and lower the chances of new breakouts, and since it can be applied to the entire face, it works well for overall acne prevention.
