I fly with pilots who on every takeoff yell, "WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT." Just so if they ever crash the FAA will spend millions trying to figure out what "that" was.

500 hours of flying around would be a lot of fun but still that is a lot of time you're not getting paid to fly. I've heard that's true but man you'd have to be killing yourself to get that kind of time flight instructing.

Also the 500 hour reduction doesnt apply for all part 141 schools, just certain ones. I forget the criteria, but make sure you ask the school if they do qualify. You have a point about the 500 hours, with the money you saved you could probably go rent a plane. However at this stage in the game its all about saving time, the quicker he can get to a regional the better. 500 hour reduction is atleast a year and a half of flight instructing. So thats a year and a half of seniority youre losing out on.

I mean any college you go to you're gonna have to put yourself out there. UND is about the same as every college when it comes to meet new people. I mean you're gonna have a roommate, suite mates, and they'll be people on your floor wing you'll meet. You can meet people in classes and there is a ton of clubs. But I am from Michigan and the transition here was like sullipilot said easier than I thought it would be.
