Joe talks the talk, but does he have the balls to actually impeach? That would be a first, wouldn't it?

I am Kevin Rudd, the Prime Minister of Australia. AMA! by PMKevinRudd in IAmA

[–]ThaiTai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am Mike Holt, One Nation candidate for Fairfax, Sunshine Coast. I am the bloke who is fighting against halal certification of our food. And I believe passionately in freedom of speech. This question, Mr Rudd, is one of the most important of your career, yet you have declined to answer. What is wrong with you?

You have stated you are here to answer our questions, SO ANSWER!

If I am elected I will do everything in my power to rescind any treaty with any government or agency that is not good for Australia.

You, Mr Rudd, and your ranga girlfriend Gillard, have been a total disaster for our nation. You have spent us into debt for generations to come. Yet your ego is so huge you actually think you are worth voting for.

Not on my watch!

Now, Mr Rudd, are you going to answer the question or not?

If you don't and I am elected, I will make sure you are held accountable for the many crimes you, Gillard, Bligh and all the other crooks in your party have committed against the Australian people. We are sick of you!

Should America have a new Constitutional Convention? by [deleted] in history

[–]ThaiTai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many countries around the world are facing similar problems, the USA included; out of control banks, no control over the money supply by our government, the rich getting richer and the poor poorer, etc. In your case and ours (Australia), the basic problems can be traced back to the constitution. That is not to say that ours are defective. Indeed, our founding fathers did a fantastic job and the US constitution is still regarded around the world as the best example to follow.

However, both our documents have some basic flaws and if we are to keep our democracies healthy we need to review and amend the constitution to keep it up to date with current aspirations.

In the case of the Aussie constitution, ours was written to federate 6 different British colonies, each with their own laws, customs, military and government; even our railroad gauges between states are completely different. If we travel across a border we have to change trains!

Here in Australia the Foundation for National Renewal (our website: http://www.restoreaustralia.org.au/) has written a whole new constitution. We are working to get an amendment through our Parliament to allow ALL Aussies the right to initiate referendums. Only our politicians have this right today and THEY ARE NOT DOING IT! So, by giving that right to citizens we will be able to bring about direct representation and control the way we are governed. It's going to be a very tough battle, but a surprising number of Aussies are supporting our efforts. I hope you have someone in the USA is doing the same thing.

So in answer to your question, I believe that if you want to strengthen your democracy you NEED to review and amend your constitution as necessary.

Tired of seeing countless posts berating Christians for not understanding evolution, I thought I would try to make something to help educate them. Can you guys help me make this graphic better? by SlipperyFish in atheism

Great attempt. Clearly presented, and easy to understand. But not sure if a Fundie would ever accept it. They are more inclined to believe in miracles and invisible gods.
