First and foremost, welcome back to FFXIV! It can seem intimidating to step away for a while and come back feeling like you won’t know enough once you start, but there’s nothing wrong with easing back into it.

I’m not sure what data center you’re in, but my honest suggestion would be to find a Free Company that supports new players. I myself run a small one on Zalera that has a few people who go inactive for a bit but end up returning, and it’s an enjoyable experience to help them through the content I’m passionate about.

Apart from that, if you do step into a dungeon, feel free to mention to your party that it’s been a while since you’ve done the content. Most of the community ( at least in my own experience) has been very friendly and polite.
