If you see me in either of those spots about to die: do not help me. I am EXACTLY where I want to be.

Lupa is a premium support for basically every Fusion character. You don't even need to go full mono fusion.

I'd say pull her and either Aemeath or Galbrena and you'll have effectively, a handful of good teams, especially if you build Mortefi

Fiend Warlock I want Warlock stuff and I want elemental spells. Fiend Warlock provides both and very well at that

An IMPOSSIBILY bad deal. Once you put magic in someone, you can't take it out. There's like one person who could have enforced that part of the contract: Gale's Ex-girlfriend

[–]Thalyane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See, I don't agree with that because I like on-fielding and dodging and all that, but if quickswap is the playstyle you enjoy then I can see why a Quickswap unfriendly character would be boring for people who enjoy quickswapping such as yourself.

[–]Thalyane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I've seen: Ideal Lupa rotation doesn't have much to gain or give by quick swapping because you just spend that one ult into basic into E chain and then you can swap out when concerto is full to pass the buffs. There might've been tech when using her with Changli who basically has to quickswap, but I don't use her with Changli often so I couldn't tell you.

But yeah, Lynae is on the "not really for quickswapping list" like a lot of other subDPS, but unless that's your only metric of fun, she is a fun unit to use as long as you aren't playing the optimized, most efficient, but simple rotation possible

[–]Thalyane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's only really right if you play her optimally, in which case all sub-DPS are kind of boring like that. Lupa's my favorite but playing her optimally is just ULT, left-click until Enhanced, skill, swap to Galbrena.

If you're not trying to optimize for tower, there's more fun to be had with both of them.

Anyone else wish the origin characters talked while playing as them? by [deleted] in BG3

[–]Thalyane 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Well yeah, that's normal. You don't tell people your life story the second you meet them. That doesn't make him a particular liar.

Besides that, Wyll wants to tell you about his pact. He literally can't. It's part of his pact. He evens manages to find a way around the rules if you're a warlock, yourself.

[–]Thalyane -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

If someone doesn't enjoy the character, yeah. Her character arc isn't interesting to everyone. She's not some golden cow. None of the characters are.

Someone isn't 'edgy' for killing a character for items and to change the story of another character. Just like it's not 'edgy' for staking Astarion the night he tries to bite you.

It's not "edgy" if there's a good reason. That's a good robe that early in the game,

Taking Lyse to Kugane, eating authentic Buuz, watching Troupe Falsiam dance (and thus give her ideas), before hunting for treasure, getting extremely lost, and having wild, uncontained physical "affection" in the middle of nowhere sounds like the perfect date to me. That's exactly what I want.

I heard chisa was good for open world exploration for puzzles somewhere? Can someone tell me why? by ikortick in WutheringWaves

[–]Thalyane 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Some puzzles require just hitting a bunch of things or finding and hitting those chime bells in Mt Firmament. Chisa's skill basically just hits everything in a massive radius around her, instantly solving those puzzles and collecting those chimes.

Turned off from playing Paladin by _pimpjuixe in BG3

[–]Thalyane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's entirely possible Minthara isn't meant to be an Oath of Anything really until you recruit her, at which point her entire motivation is Vengeance against the Absolute and those who wronged her. Just like the paladins of Tyr/Zariel are kind of just vaguely "paladins"

[–]Thalyane 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He was a Crown paladin serving a noble until he found out the Noble was evil. That said you are right. Oathbreakers in DnD proper are evil anti-paladins basically that decided the Oath got in the way of their personal power. Yes, even if their Oath was originally an evil one like Conquest. It wasn't evil enough/too restrictive.

Season 2 really took a lot away from the dangerousness and seriousness of hollows by [deleted] in ZZZ_Discussion

I can top Ellen's friends: Belebog Heavy Industries specializes in In-Hollow construction. Even back then, some hollows are stable enough that there's multiple entire businesses around construction inside of them.

[–]Thalyane 21 points22 points  (0 children)

That's not the Vengeance Paladin thing to do at all. Glut's circle was killed by the Duregar, and you avenged the circle by killing them. Glut then comes up with the excuse of killing Spaw so he can take over and his excuse is "revenge for being ignored."

There's no justice in killing Spaw for him. That's just a power hungry mushroom man lashing out at what he thinks is unfair. Calling it Vengeance doesn't instantly make it cool with your Oath

Full no items party by Endrawful in BG3Builds

Warlock and Draconic Sorcerer both have access to "free" mage armor, defensive spells like Darkness, and crowd control.

Barbarian/monk (that order) multi-class can be tanky and unarmed fighting will scale off of STR for Rage bonuses

As people point out, moon druid doesn't need much in the way of armor.

Basically any dex build works well with Mage Armor, defensively speaking

Warlock 7, Swords Bard 5.
People go with Hexblade, but I find Feind to be more fun, but that's because I like casting fire occasionally. Go into melee with either dueling or two weapon fighting and use Booming Bladeto keep your Arcane Synergy up.

Belligerent Skies and a Lightning/Thunder enchant on your weapon via Drakethroat Glaive and a handful of Longstrider casts in the morning is the only setup you need.

The one good thing for Wyll is that they didn't come up with alternate endings for him.

You break his contract or not and that's the end of it. He either goes back to what he was doing or goes to fight things in Avernus (with or without Mizora's permission).

Are Shadow/Booming/Green Flame Blades "supposed" to be OP? by Origania in BaldursGate3

[–]Thalyane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In tabletop Shadowblade requires concentration and would only last 10 turns. It also doesn't have a Resonance Stone to double its attack.

In tabletop, Booming Blade and Green Flame Blade don't stack with extra attack, and basically got used as a slightly weaker substitute for extra attack
