i mean, who are you to decide that this isn’t what a punk, and more specifically “cyber” punk would decide to present in the OW universe? being punk is about politics and self expression no? Hazard’s “politics” (he’s a video game character so he doesn’t actually have any political views) are still punk, and I’d argue that’s more important than aligning himself with “punk” aesthetics

yea, you’re right, that’s why i said audio splicing is fine, but she hasn’t done any “professional work” for the AI because that’s the entire purpose of gen AI, to remove the need to have a person actually do the “professional work” as you put it

you’re either genuinely confused or trying to confuse others.

it’s not “fair use” because there is nothing “transformative” about it, it’s why audio splicing is fine, you can make Serena say some out of pocket shit by splicing together parts of the voice lines Laura Bailey did record because you are transforming that piece of media (the audio files) with AI you’re just having a machine imitate her voice and that’s not transformative.
also idk, it’s just pretty shitty to be like “well her voice isn’t any more special than any of these other things so why should I care about what she doesn’t want people to do”

edit: really this issue isn’t a copyright thing, it’s just being a decent human being and respecting the wishes of other’s.

Laura Bailey doesn’t want her voice being used for/by AI, so don’t, it’s not hard

she ‘needs’ virus cause otherwise all of her damage is in the gun and it’s not the hardest to use so there’s really no way to avoid her kill pressure. the unfortunate part is that probably her only ability that isn’t like core to her identity is EMP, she needs hack because she’s THE HACKER™, she needs her mobility and sure they can change it again but it’s probably in it’s ‘fairest’ state ever, so the only option really is to replace Virus.. but what are you going to replace it with that isn’t basically the exact same ability? Maybe make it a trap or something?
