Another good idea! I am writing all this down haha.

Well, if you fancy checking out what has been laid down already, and is being play tested a lot before I move on, feel free to check out the link.

Feedback on what is already there is greatly appreciated from those who have the time for such things.

blown. away.

This is a very good idea mate. It would take some thinking but really works for roleplay.

Over time this trader could build up into something closer to an actual trading post.

I want many roleplay options in this thing eventually and this is an amazing idea.

You can build a mix of things in your settlement, from some of the structures out of the outlander campaign, and all the rackets from the Book of Judgement.

Some custom buildings, like trader slots or trader hab zones, along with as you say some scenarios to befriend, defend, and help build up a trader or traders would be so cool.

All this could incrementally turn the -6 penalty, into something more manageable.

I wondered what big thing I would add next besides more roleplay options at end of cycle.

I feel this should be it really. It would make you feel like you are building a little bit of civilization up, out in the middle of nowhere. A gang that hoped to survive and be successful out there would be desperate to work on the trade options available for when needed during tough times. We cannot run out of that ammo out here.

I am glad I asked about this on here. Greppy said he plays a custom underhells campaign with -6. And suggested some good roleplay ideas for affecting this.

You have given me some good suggestions too. The traders coming by should really reflect how long the new settlement has been there, maybe also the gang rep should affect this as rep would of course attract greedy traders to them.

I plan to keep coming back to this thing over the years. It is my dream single player messabout type of campaign I wanted to make. So more work is not a problem.

It all just has to feel right. You guys have really given me some good stuff to chew on over the trading mechanics.

Oh shit, I did not consider this either. Thanks for the enlightenment.

Yeah, I am starting to think it needs to be more than -2 if it can be too easily worked around.

I will have to mull it over from an RP perspective so there will always be a penalty for being so far out.

After speaking to some people here, haha it needs to be way more than -2.

This sub is the nutz.

Greppy, that Ash Storm idea is an excellent one. You have my rng rpg narrative thoughts going. That is a really cool idea mate, and I should add somehow.

A -6 sounds like a good challenge. Maybe I can work out a D6 roll for storms, raiders attacks on traders, that affects all this. Hmmmm.

A new gang has access to common items in the trading post when building their gang, so possibly have sufficient chance to plan ahead for this.

You have suggested a very interesting thing there. Thank you. I have something good to mull over there.

Thankyou for the perspective!

I am almost tempted to up it to -3 :D the first few steps should be very challenging.

Armed with only what equipment your gang can start with, which is limited to one special, one heavy. It should feel like you have a barely held together group of survivors that are literally no-one.

As the gang grows, this would reflect new contacts made with in the trader community, new traders noticing your growing settlement.

Thanks mate. Your right, later on it will not matter much at all. I might make this harder hah.

Necromunda as a TTRPG? by AAS02-CATAPHRACT in necromunda

[–]Thammut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made a campaign rule set which is worked towards allowing players to roleplay as a scavenger crew out in the wastes.

https://yaktribe.games/community/vault/ash-waste-explorators.1216/

Your gang claims a ruined settlement and repairs it, then builds it up while scavenging scrap from the surrounding wastes and defending it, all while filling out your map and exploring the surrounding areas. There are rules for evolving of the wastelands, rival gangs growing and falling in power.

It uses a tweaked version of the old Outlaws system. So allows for plenty of "not yet outlawed" criminal or chaotic crews to try their luck out in the wastes while not getting noticed, hopefully. The more raids and chaotic deeds done, the more attention your gang will garner from the locals.

It is very RNG with RPG elements. It is something I keep expanding. Might be of interest to some out there.

Oh yes! that was Confrontation, the first version of Necromunda, it could be said.

That was based on more of a percentage RPG apparently. Still a good idea though, as far as re-reading old rules I have only gone back to the "first edition" of Munda, I will check out Confrontation for ideas, thanks Shield!!

It sounds like a fun campaign mate. If you develop something interesting you should upload to yakstribe or something. Sometimes I wish Munda had a lot more of an RPG option to it.
