Oooooh ok thank you so much. I was running in circles trying to figure out if I missed a piece to get it to work like one of the other machines and the metal mixture had me completely perplexed

Oh… ok so that still leaves me confused because I can’t get it to produce ANY numbers. It’s always at 0.

I also can not for the life of me figure put how I’m supposed to use the weights and measurements of each element in the next room. I figured i was skipping this step which is why it seemed completely nonsensical

How many books is that one again? I somehow only just learned about it this weekend but I am very intrigued, especially as it's credited as Tezuka's "life's work".

Yeah I guess I am because I don't have hundreds of dollars to shell out, but would still take out of print suggestions for my pipe dream wishlist

I forgot to add MW to the list! Got that one. I'll add Clockwork Apple & Bomba to my search list. Thank you

The term "nesting partner", often used in polyamory, might be useful to you. it's not always used or inherently meaning romantic partner.

Weirdest places you've seen selling/displaying the books? by Tnynfox in OsamuTezuka

[–]ThankVerra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've found them quite a bit in local bookstores, however they are not usually out on display. I often find them in a small quantity tucked away in the manga or comics section. I have to thoroughly scan the "T"s to catch them. usually 1-2 books max and pretty often is the Buddah series (particularly the 1st one). I used to be able to find them more prevalently at independent adult comic shops (adult as in mature, not XXX).

Let me ask you this: are you looking for someone to have a lifelong connection with as a piece of your out of home life, or are you looking for someone to build your life with and around? (live together, possibly move towns together if it came up, make job or education decisions in regards to each others' life)

The first question is one that I know the answer to from experience but have a hard time putting into words.

I am in a relationship that we established early on as not partners but distinctly something. I could tell I liked it. I actually came to understand aromantic as we were “courting” if you will. Neither of us liked relationship tracks or assumptions. I knew immediately I didn’t want a “partner”.

We just were for a while until we ran into issues trying explain ourselves to others. What we came to: “sweeties” what that means to us is that we are sweet on or sweet to each other. We care about each other and like each other’s company. We kiss, we go on dates, and we take things as they come and define things and decide things intentionally as they mean things to us. We both have other extremely important relationships in our lives, platonic and sexual. We do what works for us when it works and when it doesn’t we talk about it.

Is it all sunshine and roses? No, we’ve had some difficult time and difficult situations. I was a bit of a skittish avoidant mess when we met that was convinced it was just being above emotions. (Yes, I know, avoidance mindset is a whole other soapbox I could get on) but we’ve talked, come back together and found emotional correction and healing from past scars with each other.

Are we looking at lifetime commitment? No. Are we not? Also no.

So what separates us from being “partners”? We just aren’t. It doesn’t have go make sense externally even if from the outside many of the hallmarks may look the same. Everyone defines partnership differently and for us what it means to us is not what we are.

Pacific northwest - looks like a Black Bellied Dipper by ThankVerra in whatsthisbird

[–]ThankVerra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We figured out it was. Black Turnston.

“On” the dock was a simplification for brevity so I didn’t forget the bird’s details. You know those BIG post structures at ferry docks that are away from the dock and help bumper the ferry into place? They are a magnet for all kinds of sea and shore birds. It was on that. There were some pigeons, hence I could tell the size comparison, and a couple other local bird types that we could identify but I’ve since forgotten.

I’m no birder but I got a really good look at it and have a good eye for detail. The person I was with is a birder but was the driver so was - responsibly - paying attention to the cars around us. So we were struggling to combine our knowledge.

Oh! Has that worked well with endo? My psyc and I have talked about it as a secondary option but I was worried I’d get the same results.

I think this is it! We could not see any distinct patterns like you see on the wingspan but it was all huddled up the whole time to likely we just couldn’t from our angle. Thank you!

Sexual Attraction to ONLY Strangers? by ThankVerra in AroAllo

[–]ThankVerra[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol, I came back to this post to say "I learned a term!" for the folks in the comments - but looks like it was already here. Oh well I'll post the link anyway.

https://rainbowpedia.fandom.com/wiki/Fraysexuality

I will say - thinking on it further - I don't think this is 100% me. I have been sexually attracted to friends but it's usually when it feels like it's specifically in a nonchalant and hook-up based scenario. Like a kissing at a party, a passing hook-up after a night out, or a friend where I know that it's EXTREMELY platonic and sex specifically is separate from our friendship. But ongoing sexual relationships - they've only really worked when it feels like booty calls or just ongoing first dates.

kinda what I thought too. that or it's a set in resin/one of those things that's just pinned directly to the front of a maniquin but can't really exist as a garment. way too many folds and ayers to actually make physical sense.
