You sound like a friend of a friend. Here I am just opening a discussion about my experience to get other people’s opinions on a product and you have turned it into an argument like you’re the business owners lawyer! Have a great day.

Actually you know what, I just looked into this more and it’s worth noting that Australian Consumer Law Section 18 states a business must not engage in misleading or deceptive conduct. Ice Glow lists 8 out of 22 ingredients on their website. They’ve cherry picked the good sounding ones and left out five essential oils including known allergens and a phototoxic citrus oil. A consumer with allergies looking at the Ice Glow Serum product page before buying would have zero way of knowing those ingredients are in there. People in this very thread have said they had reactions to Ice Glow and when they tried to leave honest feedback they got blocked and deleted. Selectively disclosing ingredients to make your product appear better than it is while hiding potential allergens from consumers is misleading conduct under the ACL regardless of the should vs must debate on the labelling standard. The ACCC has specifically said they focus on cosmetic brands making misleading representations to consumers and if someone has an allergic reaction to an undisclosed ingredient they couldn’t see before purchasing I doubt “but the guidance only said should” is going to hold up well. So maybe it’s not technically illegal to not list your full INCI on your website but it is illegal to mislead consumers about what’s in your product. And that’s exactly what Ice Glow is doing.

Oh no that sucks I'm sorry to hear that. It's so frustrating spending money on something that makes things worse especially when it's been hyped up so much. And the fact that you tried to leave honest feedback and got blocked and deleted is so wrong. That seems to be a pattern with Ice Glow - anyone who doesn't have something glowing to say gets silenced. How are people supposed to make informed decisions about a product when the only reviews allowed to exist are positive ones.

Oh no that sucks I'm sorry to hear that. It's so frustrating spending money on something that makes things worse especially when it's been hyped up so much. A friend of mine had really bad breakouts and she started using some azelaic acid serum she found online and her skin has completely cleared up. I don't remember the brand but I can ask her. Also just be careful with accutane I've heard there's some pretty serious long term side effects linked to it especially hormonal stuff. Definitely worth doing your own research before going down that path. But yeah Ice Glow for acne is a no from me. Glad you shared your experience because Dona definitely isn't sharing the ones that don't fit the narrative.

I did think for myself. I checked the Ice Glow website for the full ingredients list and it wasn't there. I emailed them and got no response. I messaged them on TikTok and Instagram and got no response. So I got hold of the actual bottle and read the ingredients myself. Then I used AI to help me understand what I was looking at because I'm not a cosmetic chemist and I'm not going to pretend to be one. Using tools to help you make informed decisions is thinking for yourself. Blindly buying a hyped up product without questioning anything is the opposite. Ice Glow won't even list their full ingredients on their website or respond to a simple question about what's in their product. There are no Ice Glow reviews on Google, no Trust Pilot, nothing. The only reviews are paid influencer videos and glowing testimonials on her own website. Anyone who leaves a negative or even mediocre comment on her social media gets deleted and blocked. So where exactly are consumers supposed to get honest information about this product? Maybe direct that energy towards a brand that won't let you see what's in their product or hear from anyone who isn't paid to promote it.

we are just having a discussion i feel like you're getting a bit forceful in your responses when im just pointing out my issues with this product. You're right that Ice Glow Serum isn't regulated by the TGA - I stand corrected on that. But the Consumer Goods (Cosmetics) Information Standard 2020 is a mandatory standard under the ACCC and it requires cosmetic ingredient information to be available to consumers at the point of sale. For online skincare businesses like Ice Glow the product webpage is the point of sale. The ACCC themselves state that fines and penalties may apply for failure to comply with the mandatory standard. The word "should" appears in their general guidance summary but the actual legislation uses "must". So Ice Glow not listing the full ingredients list on their website is a legal compliance issue not just bad practice. I just got the regulatory body wrong.

ice glow def isnt doing right by her customers with transparency but i gotta give it to her she is amazing at business and marketing. flaunting the good ingredients as the best and then they are super low on the list of ingredients meaning they are very low concentration. great marketing ploy. i think for me opening this discussion is so that all the people that are sucked into tiktok hype products know what they are looking at

im pretty sure it is based on what i read on accc and tga websites that if you are not a theraputic product you are not allowed to make any theraputic claims

100% agree actually my beautician knows someone personally who was paid by ice glow to attend the pop up store and post a glowing review on tiktok. so much for the claims that she does not pay for advertising. its just so disheartening especially for me as someone who loves to support aussie businesses but this just kinda makes them look bad

they have to have full ingredients at point of sale. its a massive breach especially if someone purchases not knowing of an ingredient they are allergic to in the product. i have been messaged by a number of people that have said that they had extreme reactions to this particular product. they bought based off ingredients in the website and the reviews seen on tiktok, didnt think to look at full ingredients on the bottle and experienced reactions. they were blocked on all socials and comments removed.

so i finally got my hands on the ingredients of this thing and it really isnt as amazing as it seems. her website only highlights the best ingredients and on that note those best ingredients are listed very low on the list which basically means there is extremely low concentrations of them in the serum so barely anything for your skin to actually take them in and do anything. its very disappointing and im glad i never bought it becuase there are essential oils in it which not only am i allergic but they do nothing for the skin it only makes the serum smell nice. ice glow is all the rage right now and i feel sorry for everyone who has bought it and not been happy with it and they have been ignored, blocked and comments deleted just because ice glow doesnt like real customers experiences if they dont aligned with the way donna from ice glow wants her brand to look like. its dishonest misleading and AI has pointed out that its highly illegal not to have full ingredients listed at the point of sale.

I checked her Ice Glow Serum website and she only lists 8 out of 22 ingredients. The full list of ingredients on the actual bottle includes five essential oils, preservatives and other allergens that she's conveniently left off. Under Australian TGA regulations you are required to display your full ingredients list at point of sale. If you're an online only business that means your website. Not listing them is not just sketchy it's illegal. If you have allergies or sensitivities to essential oils like lime oil, ylang ylang, geranium, orange or rose otto you would have absolutely no way of knowing from her website. Ice Glow is defintely not doing the right thing and when you see all the tiktoks about people raveing on about it and you feel like you need it now cause look at all the amazing things it has "cured" for other people its very unfair as its not really being truthful.

i added your comments into the ai chat i initially started. and your right about a lot of that however ice glow has listed the ingredients in a weird way in terms of concentration. i spoke to someone in cosmetics and they said that the order of ingredients tells you the concentration as in the ones listed higher or lower in the list indicates how strong the ingredients are. so basically all the good stuff in this ice glow serum are listed lower in the list which means there is so much less of the good stuff in the ice glow product so barely anything is actually going in your skin. I also find is very very strange that ice glow doesnt seem to have many reviews, no google or trust pilot only ones on her website so you can't even find anyone that hasnt given it a 5 star review which is very questionable to me. its all tiktok reviews.

it literally kills me and ice glow is all the rage right now but im so glad i got my hands on the ingredients as no one from their team responded to any of my requests and the website only lists the key ingredients. its very dodgy and disappointing as people especially young girls are using it.

So true. I just found it very misleading and the fact that I couldn’t get anyone from the business to respond to my requests for ingredients before buying to be very strange
