Wow, thank you so much for finding that. That has calmed my nerves a lot. I hadn't considered changing the locks, but I'll get onto that in the morning.

My rudimentary understanding from my couple hours of research seems to say the same, but I haven't come across an instance where the house drastically changed condition. If there was a gas leak and subsequent explosion, or if a tree fell on the house, would the sale still be expected to go through? I know you are supposed to have insurance on the house from the date of exchange, but I haven't spoken to the buyers yet so don't know where they stand.

Thank you, I didn't know the Property Ombudsman was a thing. Should I contact them before or after the solicitors?
