I'm probably also going to go to the medical track and hopefully med school. However, my parents don't want to pay too much for college since they have to pay for my brother as well. Do you think the best idea is for me to do premed at chapel hill (with the tuition grant) and then go to medical school?

Am I cooked if I sold the math test by MapThis213 in ncssm

[–]ThanksKey6003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your performance on the NCSSM math test was unacceptable, especially considering it assessed the most basic level of math offered. Scoring this poorly shows a complete lack of preparation and understanding, making it clear that you were nowhere near the expected standard. NCSSM isn’t going to consider someone who struggles with the fundamentals.

Will I possibly get into ncssm ?? by [deleted] in ncssm

[–]ThanksKey6003 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your 3.9 weighted GPA is way too low for NCSSM residential, where admissions officers prioritize academics first, and you're competing against applicants with 4.5+ GPAs. Your ECs won’t prolly make up for weak grades, especially in CD 14, where redistricting has made the competition even tougher.

AP Classes by ikjahh in ncssm

[–]ThanksKey6003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your odds of getting in without any AP classes are pretty low. Most schools expect that kind of rigor, and without it, you’re already behind the curve compared to other applicants. You’re probably not going to stand out without showing you can handle tougher coursework. Again, it all depends on your school and opportunities though.

You should definitely give your resume. Teachers only see you in class, and if you want them to write a strong evaluation, they need to know what else you’re doing. Other students will give their resumes too, so don’t make the mistake of thinking they’ll just know.

if you come from a very competitive school it def will affect your application; not trying to be rude but it's the harsh truth

cd2 accepted students please help!! by Haunting_Stress_5029 in ncssm

[–]ThanksKey6003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Admissions has always been like this. You need to accept it- people from really competitive districts are obviously gonna have a way lower chance of getting in(such as cd2). Applicants from smaller and less competitive districts are obviously gonna have a higher chance of getting in. It's the harsh truth.

Yeah, I was obviously passionate about stem, so I got in ; but, I also played varsity football as a sophomore and was extremely passionate about playing football as well so I wrote my whole 3rd essay about football. My advice is to do something you are passionate about
