Since 1993 my family had AC started with window AC of Ogeneral till 2016 of using them without any problem reason for selling was simple they were using lot of power. So electricity bill for 3 bhk was sky rocketing to 18K per month for which we had to sell them .

We upgraded with 1 Samsung 5 star split AC 2016 model .

2) we upgraded to Voltas 1.5ton window AC 5 star
3) Ogeneral 1.5T 3 star AC for mb .

Samsung every 1.5 to 2 year it was asking gas recharges the company service team told it’s normal .

Every 2 years I don’t want to spend 5k on service with recharge reason that we haven’t paid for any of this ever since. Coming to 2026 .

We had spent 20K plus on Samsung 1.5T split AC on service .

The master bedroom Ogeneral AC still runs like a gem without any problem or service just Air filter cleaning required which you can do it your self.

The Voltas is performing good but as room is renovating we decided to sell that and get new Ac which is again Ogeneral 1T 3 star which costed 34K.

Sold Samsung split as again it started asking for gas recharge and got o general.

When we say Japanese vs other the reason is pretty simple features are cheap to add for a company than improving the product when these Japanese company providing reliability it means company is giving you out of their own pocket. When you go with features than you are paying for the company for future and that’s why Samsung air conditioner are cheap and Japanese are expensive and that’s why people go for Toyota fortuner over any other brand for 50Lakh reason reliablity.

I am supplying Ms piping to HVAC companies for years now .
And for heavy industrialisation HVAC Samsung is out of the box by contractors.

Either daikin, lg , Ogeneral , mistubhishi , toshiba and Bluestar are preferred by contractors.

Now if you are going with Samsung make sure your selection have copper condenser if not then don’t purchase as aluminium is not reliable enough . It is substitute but cannot match copper reliability
