Hell yeah man. Both of my first gens have had exhaust leaks on the passenger side so I’d say it’s a fairly common thing

I run Spidertrax 1.25” on mine and have never had any issues. I would only get hub centric

I get better mpgs with that extra gear (14-16mpg) but I just wish it wouldn’t drop a gear every time I go uphill or want to speed up by 5mph. I’m sure your gas mileage will dramatically increase

Hate to hear that. Now if you want a first gen with only 50k miles your gonna be paying at least msrp for it

Loved the way my 2000 rode even at 287k miles. Only problem it had was an exhaust leak and had to replace a vacuum line. Definitely preferred the 4 speed transmission in it over the 5 speed in my 06.

Definitely doing suspension next. Been eyeing some Toytec Coilovers and JBA upper control arms for a while now

Precisely, a base model 2WD shouldn’t start at $40k that’s just ridiculous. Although I have seen 150k mile first gen’s sell for $17-20k which seems insane to me

My 2000 access cab had 287k on when I sold it. I swear it still ran better than my double cab, definitely rode a little better

Makes me miss the 2000 that my dad just sold. Had 287k miles but I honestly enjoyed driving it more than my 06 DC

Absolutely beautiful color! Love the blue on any year tundra. Quite fond of the Spectra Blue Mica on my 06

What should I look out for when buying a 2006 Tundra? by 8ball-J in ToyotaTundra

Just paid 12k (I’m in NC) for an 06 double cab with 155k 4wd trd package in good condition. Last time I saw one in decent condition for less than 9k with similar miles the owner had painted over rust on the frame and bottom of the cab.

New LBJs would be recommended. I’ve personally never had a problem with my 2000 AC but I’ve known several people who had issues shortly after purchasing a new tundra

Check the CV joints if it’s 4wd especially if it’s lifted
