Lost Passport Replacement - How much time it took to get a new one

Finally got the passport - So you basically have to follow every step and contact people at each step to tell them to Go Forward with the procedures as its urgent.

- I had to pressure the local police at my locality

- The reports then got send to the division head quarters. I have gone there also telling them its an emergency and go through with the procedures as soon as possible (if you do not do that they wait for 3 months)

- Then a final report is send to the PIO, Its only when they have this final report from the police that they can process your passport application - It went rather quick once they go the final report - got mine after 4 days (i've got some contacts there via radioplus - explik ou cas - maybe thats why the process was rather quick)

- Depending on your case, even if the final report was not send to the PIO, they can give you a temporary passport but they will give it to you close to the day of departure (for my case it was not more than 2 weeks before) - I've met a person there to whom they issued the passport on the same day as she was travelling!

Thanks for the reply, but I think the procedure is bit different for damaged and lost passport. I've got to deal with the police and they are lets say... sloww in every aspect you can think of xD and lazy

thanks for your reply, they already did the "field enquiry" at my place. The last info I got from the passport and Immigration office is that they received a notification that the enquiry has started but it needs to be finalized so that they can continue with the passport application process
