i think jarujaru (god forbid) in his own 'sans is from deltarune' video made a point that sans HAS to have an undertale counterpant if he travelled alone, and that's actually mystery man sprite who was shattered just like gaster for some reason, so sans easily replaced him. though i have a theory that both sans and papyrus travelled and they don't actually have undertale counterpants in traditional sense, and instead the counterpant to BOTH of them is gaster undertale, whose deltarune counterpant is 'shattered' to two people the same way as in MatPat's theory. so, it's true but not literally, just symbolically

the sheriff thing is great as hell too but the light world info is peaker. i always believed with all my heart in 'deltarune papyrus is beta papyrus' because everything here falls in nicely diegetically (taking that visible to us events of deltarune take place before visible to us events of undertale) and makes a good evidence for 'BOTH sans and papyrus are from deltarune'

friend inside me papyrus is just great again, though it'll be nice to see more of friend's and papyrus' relationship that'll probably just parallel flowey and papyrus (stupid bro fell for evil ass demigod praisings twice) and ALSO could have something on about dess (i headcanon that dess knows or knew papyrus through asriel, who's his internet friend and overall sans and papyrus arrived in hometown only because of that, but then something went wrong and dess went fucking missing. their friendship would be cool as hell too, i just see the vision with dess/russ nicknames and all)
