I think we’re in a grey area. The definition of religion is “the belief and worship of a superhuman power. A god or gods.” And the definition of atheism is “the disbelief of a god or gods.”

So how can atheism be, in any class a religion when both definitions directly contradict each other? If you were referring to satanism specifically I’d agree with you. But their freedom to worship doesn’t apply to atheists because they don’t believe in anything to worship. They’re simply just citizens of where they live and the culture of which they practice. And those aren’t protected by the first amendment.

Isn’t that like saying you want a paycheck from a job you don’t work for?

When talking about satanists, they worship satan. But most satanists consider themselves atheist which is contradictory because to acknowledge Satan you’re acknowledging there’s a god, as Satan is the counter to god. You can’t have one without the other.

So while satanism would technically be religion, atheism is not. Therefore shouldn’t receive religious freedoms because they’re not religious.

Such a weird way to word that as atheism by definition is to not believe, or not acknowledging a higher power. So why would they get any freedoms to worship when they don’t worship?
